Maker Heights has been a vital community asset for decades, capturing the hearts of thousands during the days of Maker Festival, the succeeding era of the Random Arms and of course our revered monthly Maker Sessions. That rich history has been completely overlooked during a recent drafting of a major future plan for the site, and today is our last chance to give our feedback. Let's ensure that the community always have a place at Maker Heights, please spend five minutes to fill out a feedback form and ensure that the last twenty years of positive community activity are recognised, respected, and used to shape an inclusive future for all.
We’re being wiped from history! A new site plan is being drafted for Maker Heights which completely fails to acknowledge the huge positive impact and community spirit of our our venue, bar and festival over the last 20 years, instead deeming the communal value of the site as “moderate”! Even with our windows boarded up, the site remains an incredibly important community asset with such huge potential as a significant creative hub. Let’s put this right!
The consultation period ends tomorrow, and clearly this plan needs more work. Please let that be known via the link below, today, and help to spread the word! We’ll list the key sections of concern in the comments below in case you’re not sure where to start. Long live a vibrant community at Maker Heights!
