At the Full Parish Council meeting held on 19th December 2024, It was unanimously agreed to install Solar Lighting at Millbrook Skatepark.
The install is due to begin on 8th and 9th of July, starting with the GPR survey and then the install. Nearer the time, signage will be put up to show that the areas where they will be working will be closed.
The installation of solar lighting is being paid for by funds raised by Millbrook Skatepark

137.2 Solar Lighting quotations: The Council received a quotation for 5 columns from Solar Vision Lighting Technologies ( SLVT). It was noted other Companies had been approached for quotations, but SLVT were the only Company who have attended a site visit, provided detailed quotation and have installed other skateparks. During the meeting the Chair opened the meeting to Sandy Stevenson, who confirmed representatives had spent some time on site looking at the most suitable locations for the columns. The Clerk read a testimonial received from Melton Borough Council in support of SLVT (see appendix 1).
(a) In view of the above, Cllr Roberts proposed Standing Order 18 (Financial Controls and Procurement) a(v) is applied. The council considers the contract with an estimated value of below ยฃ25,000 is exempt from a tendering process or procurement exercise. The motion was seconded by Cllr Wood and agreed unanimously. Resolved.
(b) It was proposed by Cllr Wood that the Council accepts the quotation of ยฃ21,070 from SVLT. The motion was seconded by Cllr McBain and unanimously agreed. Resolved.
