If you’re organising the Christmas party this year… firstly, you have my sympathy. 😂🎄

You’ve got the venue.
You’ve sorted the food.
Somebody’s booked the DJ.

But what happens during those bits of the evening when everyone is arriving, getting a drink and working out who they’re going to talk to?

That’s where I come in. 🎩

I perform close-up magic and mind reading right amongst your guests — getting people laughing, talking and experiencing something impossible together.

No stage. No interruptions. Just magical moments happening right in front of them.

And following a change to my diary, I now have a small number of November and December dates available for Christmas parties, corporate events and festive celebrations.

I’m a member of The Magic Circle, I’ve been performing professionally for nearly 19 years, and I’m very happy to travel.

Well, this wasn’t part of the plan… 🎄🎩

A handful of prime November and December dates have unexpectedly become available in my diary.

Not ideal for me perhaps… but potentially rather good news if you’re currently trying to organise a Christmas party! 😂

“I’m afraid of magicians...

…but I want to book you for my wedding.”

Still one of the best compliments I've ever received. 😁

I was performing at The Feathers in Aberaeron when I noticed a lady walking around the room a couple of times.

Eventually she came over.

Her name was Zoe.

And those were pretty much the first words she said to me.

“I’m afraid of magicians, but I want to book you for my wedding.”

And she did.

It's something I've thought about many times since.

Being a good magician isn't just about fooling people.

It's about making people feel comfortable.

Nobody wants to worry that they're going to be embarrassed, made to look silly or dragged into something they don't want to do.

Some people want to be right in the middle of the action.

Some prefer watching.

And some apparently spend a while walking around the room deciding whether the magician is safe to approach. 😂

But there's an even nicer ending to this story...

I've since been booked to perform at Zoe's sister's wedding too.

For me, that's about as good a compliment as I can receive.

Not just:

“You fooled us.”

But:

“We trusted you with one family wedding... and we'd like you at another.”

I'll take that every single time. ❤️

You’ve booked the venue.

The food is sorted.

The drinks are flowing.

Everyone you wanted is finally in the same room.

There’s just one little problem...

Half of them don’t know each other. 😁

And strangely, that's one of my favourite parts of what I do.

Whether it's a wedding, party or corporate event, I can walk up to a small group of people, make something seemingly impossible happen...

…and walk away leaving a much bigger group laughing and talking together.

Because the magic isn't really the important bit.

It's what happens afterwards.

The laughter.

The reactions.

The inevitable “HOW THE HELL DID HE DO THAT?!”

And suddenly people who were strangers ten minutes ago have something to talk about.

After around 18 years of doing this professionally, I've realised people don't really book me because they need a magician.

They book me because they want something to happen in the room.

And I absolutely love making that happen.

Something I've realised after nearly 19 years of performing magic full time...

People don't really book me because they need a magician. 😁

They book me because they want their guests to have a brilliant time.

At a wedding, there can be that slightly awkward bit while the photographs are being taken. People are standing around with a drink, half of them have never met before...

Then something impossible happens in someone's hands.

Someone laughs.

Someone shouts, "NO WAY!"

And suddenly you've got six people who didn't know each other five minutes ago laughing and talking together.

That's the bit I love.

Yes, I'm incredibly proud to be a Member of The Magic Circle — but after all these years I've realised the trick itself isn't really the important part.

It's what happens between people afterwards that matters.
