Low weekly fee £3. We rehearse on a Monday from 7pm at the Hubberston Community Centre. Gelliswick Community Choir was established in September 2018 with a constitution and a Board of Trustees consisting of a Chair, treasurer, secretary and communications officer. It also has a musical director who is paid on an hourly basis to develop the choir`s repertoire and improve our confidence and musical
ability. Since September 2019 the constitution has been revised and a committee has been established. We have also developed a Code of Conduct. The choir makes decisions democratically. The choir currently meets on a Monday night 7pm to 8.30 pm at Hubberston and Hakin Community Centre. The choir originally brought together adults from the Hakin and Hubberston Community. This has now been broadened to include members from Milford Haven and the surrounding areas. There are no auditions. It is made up from people from a wide range of backgrounds, needs and ages 18 and over. Through singing together members get to feel more connected, less isolated, more confident and gain a sense of well being both in mental and physical health. We are now under the musical leadership of Angharad Sanders. We perform in Local Care Homes, Community Centres and Churches and have taken part in Community events. We keep records of letters of support and photographs of performances. Many of these can be seen on our page. Care home residents are always enthusiastic audiences and we have developed a wide repertoire to cater for all situations. It is wonderful to see their smiles when we sing.
