There was something quite exciting about stepping through an unassuming door on a terrace street and finding yourself at a film night 🎬

Big moment for boro today! Middlesbrough has been named as one of nine finalists for UK City of Culture.

Feels like a proper nod to everything that’s been building here for years. The people, the ideas and the willingness to get stuck in and make things happen.

Very proud to be part of it and even prouder of everyone pushing things forward behind the scenes.

This is what happens when you back creativity.

This is what happens when people believe in a place.

This is where dreaming gets you ❤️

Over the past few months we’ve been working hard renovating a set of houses on Princes Road to create affordable live/work homes for creatives in Middlesbrough.

What were once tired spaces are now light-filled apartments designed for real creative life, somewhere you can live, work, collaborate and grow your practice.

We’re opening the doors for a walkaround preview so you can see the spaces in person before they become available.

We’re buzzing to launch The Factory Window - our new ongoing window gallery celebrating amazing artists and creatives. Kicking things off is the brilliant Charly Mupenga 💥

Charly is a contemporary impressionist painter and muralist from the Democratic Republic of Congo, now based in Teesside. His powerful, emotional work explores identity, resilience and lived experience, giving voice to stories often unheard through bold colour, movement and expression

Catch his work in our factory window from THIS Friday until the 6th March. Then keep your peepers peeled for the next artist taking over the glass…👀
