Special Forum — Impact of AI on the Animation, Games and VFX Industry
Animex – Call for Contributions

As organisations across animation, games, and VFX formalise their positions on AI, this forum invites academics, industry practitioners, and students to reflect on how AI is reshaping creative labour, production processes, and the industry's future. The session aims to foster dialogue, identify challenges, and map potential futures. Formats may include short talks, discussion panels, or world café–style exchanges; the final programme will follow submissions. The event is in-person only and may produce future outputs (e.g., an edited collection).

Topics of interest include:
- Bias and embedded ideologies in AI systems
- The shifting role or displacement of artists
- Labour, precarity, and economics of AI-driven production
- Integration of AI into creative workflows and tools
- Ethics, ownership, and IP in AI-generated work
- Implications for learning, pedagogy, employability, and skills
- Aesthetics and authorship in machine-assisted creativity

Contributions are welcome from students, practitioners, and researchers. Formats: micro talks, short presentations, provocations, case studies, or facilitated discussions.
