A friendly and encouraging dance school offering high quality tuition in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Acrobatics, Street, Cheerdance, Singing, Drama, Parent and Toddler, Pilates and Zumba. From ages 18 months to Adult, pupils of all abilities are welcome. We take part in shows, festivals, exams and community events. Our aim at SB Dance is to not only teach dance but to develop confidence, social skills and to make members feel part of our dance family.

One of the most special moments in a young dancer’s journey is progressing from RAD Pre-Primary Ballet to RAD Primary Ballet.

At this stage, our dancers are given the opportunity to take the Exam Route for the very first time. This is a significant step forward, as they begin preparing for and taking their examination independently, without the support of a teacher in the exam room.

It takes months of careful preparation, developing not only their knowledge of the exercises but also their confidence, concentration and ability to perform on their own. We place great importance on ensuring every child feels secure and ready before entering an examination, building their confidence every step of the way.

We are so proud of the hard work, determination and maturity they have shown throughout this process. Watching them grow in both skill and confidence has been wonderful, and we cannot wait to see them shine in their upcoming exams.

Good luck, dancers – you’ve worked so hard and we know you will do yourselves proud! 🩰

✨ Beautiful work in our Grade 7 Ballet classes ✨

As our students prepare for their RAD Grade 7 Examination, it is wonderful to see such maturity, artistry and dedication in every lesson.

At SB Ballet & Dance, we understand that classical ballet is about so much more than technique alone. Alongside developing strong technical foundations, our dancers are encouraged to discover the qualities that truly bring ballet to life – musicality, expression, artistry, confidence, and a genuine connection to both themselves and their audience.

These skills are nurtured and refined throughout the higher RAD Grades and Vocational Examinations, helping our dancers grow not only as technicians, but as expressive and thoughtful performers.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment and beautiful progress our students are showing and we thank our ballet teacher Miss Sarah Hearn for her knowledge and care in preparing the dancers for this higher grade exam.🩰

🌟✨ Little Stars Summer Concert 2026 ✨🌟

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating our youngest performers at our Little Stars Summer Concert!

Our dancers aged 8 and under delighted the audience with a beautiful mix of ballet, jazz and tap, showcasing not only their developing skills but also their enthusiasm, confidence and love of dance. For many of our pupils, this was their very first time stepping onto the stage, and they should all be incredibly proud of how brilliantly they performed.

A huge thank you to our fantastic chaperones who looked after the children backstage, and to all of our volunteers who helped with refreshments, the door and tombola. Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without your support.

We would also like to thank our wonderful teaching team and our amazing administrator, Lynne, for all of their hard work, dedication and organisation behind the scenes.

Most importantly, well done to every single dancer who took part today. We are so proud of you all and cannot wait to watch your confidence, skills and passion for dance continue to grow in the years ahead.
