We’re sad to say that recent developments, including staff shortages due to the dreaded Track & Trace ping mean that we are going to have to severely restrict what we can do over the next couple of weeks.
The café will be closed until Tuesday 27 July, and we will be rescheduling the following events:
The Red Room [sold out] – Original date Fri 23 July. New date Sat 10 Dec, tickets still valid, or contact us for a refund
Chloe Castro & The Lulas [free show] - Original date Sat 24 July, new date TBC
Sumo [sold out] – Original date Fri 30 July. New date Fri 24 Sept, tickets still valid, or contact us for a refund. It just doesn’t feel right throwing a party in a climate where Covid is so rife in the area, people are being told to avoid crowded spaces, and government are suggesting that wearing masks on a dancefloor should be normal practice – doesn’t sound like much of a party to us. We were so looking forwarded to this one, and are absolutely gutted to have to shift it back.
All other events will go ahead as planned.
We know that we are not alone, and that so many other venues are going through the same as us – tough times for the whole industry.
We have not made these decisions lightly but we are a small team and our priority has to be to keep our staff, performers, customers and community safe. Hopefully once the rescheduled dates come around it will feel much safer for us all to play out again.
We’re not trying to take the moral high ground or make judgements on any other venues that are totally within their rights to get things going again. We understand the pressures and totally respect that other operators up and down the country will choose to deal with this thing in their own way.
