We are thrilled to invite you to celebrate the completion of the stunning new mural and meet the renowned Street Artist Peachzz 💖💫

Join us for a special afternoon, along with acclaimed poet Helen Mort and Ian Parks, who's words feature within the mural. The event will include readings of selected poems and an opportunity to celebrate this new landmark for the town.

Our summer Wellbeing event “Where Arts & Wellness Come Together!!!!

WHAT A WONDERFUL AFTERNOON, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended and also to the team who supported the event with your fabulous crafts, wellbeing & creativity!!

From flower crowns & wands, to fabulous speakers, story tellers, books and artists it was a wonderful afternoon bringing the community together.

Live music by local musician Phoebe Dalton had people to their feet dancing - fabulous 💫😊🎵🎤 🌼

We’re thrilled to announce Deborah Fox Deborah Fox - Author will be joining the event, now into the 6th publication each book is filled with a sense of wellbeing, and a connection to friendship.

UK Town of Culture 2028 Update.

We’re disappointed to share that Mexborough has not been shortlisted for UK Town of Culture 2028.

Although we didn’t make the shortlist, the work done through this bid has not been wasted. The conversations, partnerships and momentum created are something we can continue to build on.

We would also like to congratulate Rotherham on being shortlisted and wish them the very best of luck in the next stage of the competition. It is fantastic to see South Yorkshire represented, and we hope the opportunity brings positive recognition and investment to the region.

UK Town of Culture 2028 Update

We’re disappointed to share that Mexborough has not been shortlisted for UK Town of Culture 2028.

While this isn’t the outcome we hoped for, we are incredibly proud of the bid that was submitted and the support shown by so many people, groups and organisations across the town.

This process gave us the opportunity to tell Mexborough’s story — a story shaped by heritage, creativity, resilience, community spirit and pride. It also showed what can happen when people come together around a positive vision for the town.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the bid, attended the drop-in event, shared ideas, offered support, helped promote the campaign, or simply believed in what Mexborough had to offer.

**A NEW MONTH & A NEW EXHIBITION**

We’ve been busy behind the scenes preparing for the opening celebrations of Artists from The Doncaster Art Club.
The opening event is on SATURDAY 11th JULY 2025 6PM - 8PM everyone is welcome.

The Doncaster Art Club, founded in 1897, one of Yorkshire’s earliest art clubs, has a tradition of encouraging painting and boasts many illustrious artists as past and present members.
