Merthyr Performance Company Musical Theatre, Acting and Dance classes from ages 3.5+, with performance opportunities throughout the year, rosettes, medals and examinations

Covering all aspects of live performance, including contemporary Pop, Rock, Recording Techniques, Acting for camera, Musical Theatre, Dance and Singing. Emphasis on practical work and performing in in-house productions. Student will also have the opportunity to be represented for professional Stage and TV work through the Agency.

Classes are back this week and registration for all is now open to new starters for a limited time!

With productions, plays and revue shows throughout the year, and led a team of professionally trained teachers with decades of experience and qualifications in music, dance, acting & teaching, we aim to give our performers the best experiences, and most importantly tonnes of memorable fun, building confidence along the way!
We are a non-profit community organisation with numerous shows & performances, and working super talented young performers for over 8 years, with many past members going on to excellent performing arts courses, colleges and universities throughout the UK!

Choose from the following classes (for dance only classes including ballet & others, please message Burlywhirls Dance Theatre)

🎭Musical Minis - Thursday 5pm-5:45pm - ages 3.5-7 - £6 (starts today 3rd Sept limited spaces left)

🎭Musical Theatre Company - Saturday 10am-11:30am - ages 8-18 - £10 (starts 5th Sept)

🎭Storytellers Drama Company - Saturday - 11:30am-1pm - ages 8-18 - £10 (starts 5th Sept)

All performers present past & future must be registered at this form https://forms.gle/nn7KR6JPw1qDXnkZ6 - one must be completed for each individual child attending MPC

After completing the registration you will be redirected to the parent group for your chosen class where you will find Matilda audition registration, as well as essential class payment, term and Christmas show information!

💫CALLING ALLLLLLLL MAGGOTS 🎒

Our April 2027 is Matilda the Musical Jr!

With loads of roles for a huge range of ages, and characters galore, there's plenty to get your teeth into as performers!

Having first done this show back in 2022 with a completely different company of performers (most of whom are now off to or already graduated from uni!), we know just how much fun and hard work it is, and can't get in to it again with you all!

Some of our kids company at yesterday's brilliant summer revue show! Missing some of our little team but for the rest it's their first outing on stage with us, and they brought the house down!

Also Amazing work from our brilliant Eleri who as well as dancing twice with her team, took a singing solo on stage too!

Well done to all of our performers and a huge thank you everyone for supporting them at their first revue!

Classes are on over summer AND we have our brand new summer schools for all ages, so keep your eyes peeled!!

A huge well done to the jr & youth members of our musical theatre companies who joined at our super colourful summer revue this week!

Despite missing lots of our regulars at proms trips and end of term events, they put on a brilliant performance, showcasing their singing skills, acting through song and choreography & directing skills, as the whole night was basically designed by them! 👏🏻👏🏻

An enormous thank you to the friends and families who came to support them, our raffle prize givers, our incredible cast and fundraising manager Tiffany, Paul our wonderful technician for his support in making the night look brilliant!

Next show will be coming out very soon for our musical teams, with our drama company show now cast and rehearsals underway (more info on that soon!)

Some of today's slightly mad musical theatre class 🎭🪩 massive well done and welcome to our new young performers who got stuck right in with everyone, and thank you team for making them feel welcome!

Next week is audition weekend for Storytellers Drama Company (newbies always welcome) and singing weekend where our singers will be chosen for our summer end of term revue show!

Newbies always welcome throughout this term, it's a great time to join, learn new skills, get to know your fellow performers, and get ready to audition for our next musical theatre production too!

⚡Musical Theatre Minis - Thursdays - 4.15pm-5pm - £6.00 - Ages 3.5-7
Musical Theatre fun for little ones, song, dance & acting skills, for our summer performance & rosettes & medals (please message us before joining this class as spaces are limited!)

⚡Musical Theatre Company - Saturdays - 10am-11:30am - £10.00 - Ages 8+
Pure Musical Theatre fun, working on songs, dances, audition prep and optional musical theatre exams, all working for our summer performance on 2nd July before separating age groups for our next musical production

⚡Storytellers Drama Company - Saturdays - 11:30am-1pm - £10.00 - Ages 8+
This separate drama only company gives young performers a chance to flex their acting skills, accents, public speaking & confidence, working towards a new play productions

(Young performers aged 8+ are welcome to join both Saturday companies)

Classes are now at Full Out Studios, Pant Industrial Estate (1st floor)
Commercial, Contemporary, Ballet & Jazz standalone class starting June 2nd with Burlywhirls Dance Theatre

And just like that another show is over!

Our junior company smashed what was a very fiddly show for such young performers, and we couldn't be more proud; we hope you are too!

And a packed audience who clicked along and supported everyone in stage 👏🏻👏🏻 thank you for joining us!

Our company classes return this week in a BRAND NEW studio, with more classes and new opportunities, syllabus, exams and shows coming in the next few months!
