🎨🎭🎶 91%–100% A*-C ACROSS EXPRESSIVE ARTS! 🎶🎭🎨

What an incredible morning for Team Expressive Arts! 💙

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate another fantastic set of GCSE results, with 91%–100% of learners achieving A* - C across our Expressive Arts subjects! 🌟

Behind every one of those results is a learner who created, rehearsed, performed, practised, refined, redrafted and kept going - and today, all of that hard work has paid off.

To our Art, Drama, Graphics and Music learners: we could not be prouder of you. Not simply because of the grades you have achieved, but because of the creativity, confidence, resilience and commitment you have shown throughout your journey with us.

Amazing subjects. Amazing results. Most importantly, amazing young people. 🫶🏼

Congratulations, Class of 2026! 🥳✨💙

✨ Sending so much luck to all of our learners ahead of tomorrow’s GCSE Results Day! ✨

A special shoutout, of course, to our incredible GCSE Art, Drama, Graphics & Music learners. 🎨🎭🎶✏️

You have worked so hard, shown incredible commitment and thrown yourselves into so many creative experiences along the way. We hope tomorrow brings the results you’ve worked for and deserve. 🤞🏼💙

But remember - you are not defined by a grade on a piece of paper.

The creativity you’ve developed, the confidence you’ve built, the performances you’ve given, the work you’ve created and the memories you’ve made are worth so much more. Those experiences are yours to carry forward into whatever comes next and whatever tomorrow brings, Team Expressive Arts is incredibly proud of you.

So, one final “BREAK A LEG!” from us as you head into your next adventure - and please, please stay in touch. 🫶🏼

📍 GCSE results can be collected from the BH Campus Sports Hall from 9:30am tomorrow.

Good luck, Class of 2026! 🍀✨

🎭✨ “These are the days of our lives…” ✨🎭

As we prepare to create a whole new set of memories with Oliver! in February 2027, we’ve been looking back at one of the most special moments from our journey.

Before taking our final bow at Bishop Hedley Campus, the lead cast of our sell-out production of We Will Rock You visited a local recording studio to record some of the show’s iconic songs. It was the perfect way to celebrate an unforgettable production and capture a moment in time that we’ll always treasure.

The memories, the friendships, the music, the laughter… these really were the days of our lives. 💙

If you’d like to relive the magic, the recordings are still available to listen to here:

Now it’s time to write the next chapter.

Our first-ever 3–16 production in our brand new school building is already taking shape, and we can’t wait to see what memories Oliver! will bring in February 2027.

Because if We Will Rock You taught us anything, it’s that the curtain may fall… but the memories last forever. ❤️🎭

🎭 RAISING VOICES. RAISING HOPE. ❤️

We’re incredibly proud that a group of talented pupils from SCA will be performing at “One More Song”, joining Tredegar Operatic Society, SHOWSTOPPERS, and a host of incredible guest soloists for a spectacular performance of live musical theatre - all in support of Tracy McCarthy’s ongoing cancer treatment in Germany.

As part of the concert, our pupils will perform a selection of musical theatre favourites, as well as giving audiences an EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PREVIEW of our February 2027 production of Oliver!… the very first opportunity to see our cast perform before the show opens next year.

The response has been phenomenal, with the original evening performance selling out in less than one week. Due to overwhelming demand, an additional 2pm matinee performance has now been added.

We would love to see as many members of our school community there as possible, supporting our pupils while helping to raise money for a truly worthwhile cause.♥️✨

🌊✨ THROWBACK THURSDAY | DIVE INTO THIS! ✨🌊

How incredible is this experimental photography work by Anna?! 📸💙

Inspired by photographer Rankin and his iconic Destroy project, Anna began with her own carefully styled photoshoot before taking the images in a completely new direction for her editorial project.

With ‘Under the Sea’ as her chosen theme, she explored layers of ocean blues, watery textures, paint, collage and fragmented forms, physically manipulating her photographs by hand to create a series of beautiful experimental outcomes. 🌊🐠🫧

And it didn’t stop there! Anna then brought her handmade pieces into Photoshop, digitally developing and enhancing them to push the imagery even further. We love the combination of photography, hands on experimentation and digital editing - the results are bold, atmospheric and seriously striking! 💥

Now we just need to see the finished magazine cover… 👀✨

Fantastic work, Anna! 👏💙

✨ I F T H E G O O D B Y E H U R T S . . . ✨

As we close the door on this chapter, it’s impossible not to reflect on the memories made within these walls. 💙

These classrooms have been filled with laughter, learning, friendships, performances, celebrations and countless moments that have shaped so many young people. Today they’re empty… but only of furniture.

The memories, the stories and the spirit of our school will always stay with us.

A building is special because of the people inside it, and that’s the one thing we’re taking with us. Every smile, every achievement, every tradition and every dream moves to our new home together.

Here’s to everything this building has given us… and to the exciting new memories we’re about to create. 💫🏫

✨ I M A G I N E T H I S ✨

Some moments stay with you forever, and this was one of them. ❤️

Watching our Year 9 pupil, Jen, step forward and volunteer to sing Hey Jude at the Imagine Memorial in Manhattan was incredibly emotional for all of us.

In front of a crowd of visitors from all over the world, she bravely stood up and sang her heart out in one of New York’s most iconic locations.

As we streamed live from Central Park, we watched with immense pride as she embraced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and created a memory none of us will ever forget.

A truly unforgettable moment for Jen and for everyone lucky enough to witness it.

✨ Imagine that. ✨

🎭✨ WHAT. A. DAY. ✨🎭

Yesterday we took 50 learners to London’s West End to experience the spectacular Oliver! at the Gielgud Theatre - and what an unforgettable experience it was.

For many of our students, this wasn’t just a theatre trip… it was a chance to watch the very show they’ll be bringing to life themselves in February 2027. Seeing our cast members completely immersed in the music, characters and storytelling made the day even more special.

The performance was nothing short of phenomenal, earning every single standing ovation. It reminded us exactly why this musical has captured audiences’ hearts for generations.

Watching our cast throughout the day, listening to their excitement on the journey home and seeing the motivation this trip has given them makes us even more excited for our own production. We have something incredibly special brewing, and we have every confidence that our cast will create the same magic, emotion and unforgettable moments for our audiences.

To all of our cast, have an amazing summer break! ☀️

Rest, recharge, learn those lines, listen to the music… and we’ll see you back in the rehearsal room in September, ready to continue this incredible journey together.

February 2027 can’t come soon enough. 💙🎩

👞 Everybody cut loose… one last time! 🎭

It’s been a pleasure spending the week backstage supporting ’ production of Footloose. Huge congratulations to the cast, crew and creative team on another fantastic production!

A special shout-out to our talented BCA pupils, past and present - you’ve made us incredibly proud. Keep shining, keep believing in yourselves and keep doing what you love. ⭐

Best of luck for your final performance today. I can’t be there to cheer you on, but I know you’ll finish in style. Break a leg! ❤️👏
