We have an superb season of eight concerts between May and November, with an amazing range of music: twenty-two instruments, works from four centuries, twelve countries and forty composers; famous favourites and rarely heard masterpieces, such as Tippett’s The Blue Guitar, Schoenberg’s Wind Quintet and Mahler’s First Symphony transcribed by his friend and champion, Bruno Walter, part of our celebration of the great conductor, born 150 years ago. Unfortunately, the concert by Hamish Strathdee on Sunday the 22nd has had to be cancelled. Hamish is stranded in Australia, unable to get a flight, because of the conflict in the Iranian Gulf. If you have already bought a ticket, you will be offered a ticket. If you have any queries, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

An absolutely great performance by Jack Hancher last Sunday: indeed the best guitar recital I've ever attended - such sensitive, lyrical and assured playing! Looking at these pictures, I can recapture the rapturous sound of the singing strings, but if you missed the gig, you can only imagine it... and resolve not to miss the next concert!
