Busy in my studio today making some beautiful Oakwood Burn Belts for the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair (GNCCF) in Newcastle.

I love how striking the yellow stitching looks against the British oak tanned leather and the dark edges.

The top grain oak tanned leather adds so much character to these belts. No two belts are the same.

There are a lot of stages to making these belts and I love seeing them develop during the making process.

I will be selling these belts along with my other handmade leather goods. GNCCF starts with the preview evening tomorrow (Thursday) and is on until Sunday.

I'm not normally this vulnerable but today I have been.

The first photo is the image I normally share where I'm happy and relaxed. Unfortunately I don't feel that every day.

In trying to make the best leather goods I can, I fall into the trap of perfectionism. It zaps my creativity, makes me self critical and can sometimes lead to imposter syndrome.

This morning in the studio was one of those times. Everything seemed to go wrong and perfectionism kicked in.

The Borders Book Festival is on in my home village, Melrose. So, I looked at the brochure and found out that Claudia Hammond was talking about her book "Overwhelmed." I managed to book last minute tickets, so my husband and I walked down.

A great talk and I even got to ask a question on tips to stop being a perfectionist.

Why people enjoy using my Leaderfoot Page Cuffs.

The pagecuff sits nicely on the page corner and doesn't fall out (especially good when you're on holiday).

They're made from thin leather so don't damage your book pages.

The British tanned calfskin feels so tactile and adds a bit of luxury to reading.

Helpful to hold the page of your favourite recipe in a recipe book.

There is a good choice of leather and stitching colour options.

They also make a great gifts for someone who loves reading.

Handcrafted leather goods for life's adventures.
