Each boat carries a decorated model and as darkness falls the boats disappear into the blackness below, leaving the models apparently gliding along just above the water.

Our first *four* fireworks nights are now S O L D - O U T on the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th October 🎆🎇

A reminder too that our opening night next Saturday (12th September) is also s o l d - o u t 😟

The only remaining fireworks finale nights with ticket availability are Halloween (Saturday 31st October) and Sunday November 1st.

So if you're planning to visit the Illuminations this year, our best advice is to book online asap, taking advantage of the £1 ticket price for all accompanied under 16s. See booking link in comments >>

After opening night, the 2026 Illuminations continue from Saturday 19th October every weekend through to Sunday 1st November (plus Friday 30th October).

Looking further ahead, after opening night the Illuminations will continue from the following Saturday (19th September) every weekend until 1st November, plus Friday 30th October.

Our fireworks finales are every October Saturday and the final Sunday (1st November).

If you're disappointed to have missed out on the 'K-Pop Party Experience' now our Preview Night on Saturday 12th September is *s o l d - o u t*, please note that the girls will be returning on Saturday 26th September 🤩

We have K-Pop style shows programmed in at 6pm and 7pm on both the 12th and the 26th - expect Big K-Pop routines, bold characters and loads of energy.

The season opens in less than two weeks - and tickets are flying, particularly for our popular fireworks finale nights, all of which will s e l l - o u t in advance 🎆

A reminder that following on from our discounted Preview Night on Saturday 12th September, the Illuminations will run every weekend from the following Saturday (19th) through to 1st November - plus Friday 30th October.

Fireworks finales will happen every October Saturday and Sunday 1st November.

We open 2 WEEKS TONIGHT! 🤩Our discounted Preview Night takes place on Saturday 12th September. Have you booked in yet at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/illuminations ?

The wonderful Wombles Orinoco and Great Uncle Bulgaria will be greeting visitors that night - courtesy of our main sponsor The Heights of Abraham.

Preview Night will also feature a 'K-Pop Party Experience' with shows at 6pm and 7pm - expect Big K-Pop routines, bold characters and loads of energy.

It's only £1 entry for accompanied youngsters under 16 - and adults pay just *£5* online for Preview Night.

Plus, we'll have all the usual stalls and kiddies' fairground in beautiful Derwent Gardens, as well as the fantastic Paris Bubbles Entertainment, circus skills and stilt walkers.

After opening night, the 2026 Illuminations will continue every Saturday and Sunday from 19th September to 1st November, with fireworks finales every October Saturday, plus the final night.
