Over the past 3 months I have been undergoing hospital investigations.

The doctors have diagnosed Bone marrow failure. It is a rare form called Aplastic Anaemia- my body has stopped producing enough blood cells.

I have just come out of a stay in hospital where I had IV chemotherapy which has suppressed my immune system. Over the next 6 months or so, we will see if this treatment is working.

If not, plan B is a bone marrow transplant.

💛 This leads me to say that I will be closing The Tinderbox. I have had several enquiries about the new term and feel that it’s best for people to know the current situation. My performing arts centre meant the world to me and everyone that came each week made The Tinderbox what it was and what we stood for.

My health and my family are my priority. My family and friends have been a network of love and support. I am immensely lucky to have them ❤️ Mentally and emotionally they have carried me and I have reached a far stronger place because of them. I now feel positive and ready for whatever I need to do.

Tech/dress rehearsal done for Goldilocks this weekend ✅

Our first show is next weekend- Sat 1st 4pm and 6.30pm and Sun 2nd 6.30pm at Lady Manners school in Bakewell.

A 30 minute show, suitable for all the family.

Looking for a bass guitarist

Do you play bass or do you know somebody who does? My Tinderbox Choirs have a concert on Friday 12th May at The Whitworth Centre in Darley Dale and I would love to have a guitarist accompany us. We already have a pianist and drummer but are missing the final piece of the jigsaw.

Bringing toys to life.

As part of our ‘Puppetry’ half term, the Senior Drama Club brought in soft toys.

Using the principals of Breath, Weight and Focus, the performers manipulated their puppets and devised short pieces of story telling.

It’s World Bear Day today 🐻

It couldn’t be any more apt, considering the cast of Goldilocks and the Three Bears the Musical have their tech and dress rehearsals this weekend! 2 very important days on the run up show day. Happy World Bear Day to all of you 💛
