Introducing our new name: 'MAODS on Stage'.

Today we are proud to introduce our new brand!
This isn't about changing who we are - it’s about celebrating what we’ve always been: a welcoming society, a creative community and a place where friendships are made, confidence grows and memories last long after the curtain falls.

Our new identity reflects the energy, ambition and heart that has always existed within our group.

It’s the same society but with a fresh new look.

We are extremely proud of Beth, who will be joining the London cast of The Last Ship, with her West End debut. 🤩

Beth started her journey to the West End with MAODS when she was just 6.
Her talent has flourished over those years. MAODS are immensely proud to be part of her journey and her ours as she continues to develop our juniors and be part of our production team.

Beth is the embodiment of everything we stand for at MAODS and has truly realised her northern heart to west end ambition.

Shine bright in London, we can’t wait to see you on the stage! 🎭

Before we created anything... we listened.

When we started thinking about the future of our society, we didn't begin with logos or colours.

We began with people.
We spoke to members, volunteers and supporters to understand what makes this society so special. The stories you shared, the values you described and the passion you have for Maryport AODS shaped every decision that followed.
As part of that journey, we've also taken a step that better reflects who we are today.

It's a small change with a big purpose. One that celebrates our heritage while giving us a clearer, more recognisable identity for the future.

Very soon, we'll be revealing the next chapter, and we hope that when you see it, you'll recognise the heart of the society you've helped to build.

While we've been busy bringing 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert' and 'Once Upon a Stage' to life, we've also been working on something that has been months in the making.

We've been pondering questions like:
🎶 Who are we?
🎭 What makes our society so special?
🤩 How do we celebrate our history while looking positively towards the future?

The answers have led us to an exciting new chapter.
We can't wait to share it with you.

Maryport Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society (MAODS) are delighted to announce that we will be bringing the much-loved 🎶 Nativity! The Musical 🎶 to the Carnegie Theatre, Workington, from 25th–28th November 2026!

🎄 Get ready for a hilarious, heart-warming and spectacular Christmas treat!

Packed full of laughs, catchy songs, energetic dance numbers and plenty of Christmas spirit, Nativity! The Musical is a feel-good show for the whole family. Our whole society will be involved, and we’re confident this production will be another sparkling success!

Of course, putting on live theatre comes with significant production costs — from sets and costumes to lighting, rehearsal space and much more.

To help us continue delivering professional, engaging performances at an accessible ticket price, we are looking for community and business partners to support this fantastic production. ❤️

Our 2027 Trip Details Just out!

Hairspray The Musical
Kings Theatre Glasgow
Sunday 25th July Matinee Performance 2.30pm

Seats will be in the stalls for this trip and are priced at £59.00pp. The bus cost will be dependent on numbers usually around £17.00pp but will confirm.

You don't have to be a member of our society, anyone is welcome to join us. Please pop your name below and number of seats and we will be in touch.

We've heard Hollywood are coming!! 🎥🎄👼

Do you want to be a part of our 'school' Nativity?!
If you'd like to be apart of our production, no matter whether you want a big or small role, we have lots of parts available and are always happy to welcome new and returning members. 😀

The adult roles available to audition for are listed below with a description of the role

Auditions will take place Wednesday 2nd September - so if your over 18 and want to join us, send us a message and we will send out all the information for you.

Our production of Nativity will run Wednesday 25th - Saturday 28th November 2026 at the Carnegie Theatre & Arts Centre.
