My poorly hand is thankfully strong enough to open paint tubes again!

It felt really good to get back to some painting this afternoon. Another tit to add to my collection ๐Ÿ˜Š

Itโ€™s still a work in progress, but Iโ€™m enjoying seeing this little character emerge from the board.

Sometimes itโ€™s the small things that feel like big wins. ๐Ÿ’•

This year I've been working with local artist and sketcher Hilary Geelan to turn a very special personal project into a hand-produced calendar for 2027.

When Hilary reached the same age her mother had been when she died, she decided to spend a year drawing something she noticed, found or experienced each day. The result was a wonderful collection of sketches celebrating nature, everyday moments and the joy of paying attention to the world around us.

When Hilary showed me the completed collection, I immediately felt it deserved to be shared more widely. I've had the pleasure of designing, printing and producing the calendar, and I'm delighted that it is now available through my website.

Each calendar folds out to A3, includes space for appointments and reminders, and features Hilary's original drawings throughout the year.

As each calendar is produced in small batches, please allow up to two weeks for production and dispatch.

I hope you love it as much as I do ๐Ÿ’•

My husband was playing golf, Dad was away in France, and I found myself with a free afternoon.

Thankfully, Iโ€™d arranged a kingfisher workshop last week, so rather than wondering what to do with myself, I spent the afternoon in the sunshine with a lovely group of people, chatting, eating cookies and painting birds!

I always love seeing the finished results. Everyone starts with the same reference image, but somehow every kingfisher ends up with its own personality.

A pretty perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon if you ask me. ๐Ÿ’•

If youโ€™d like to join me for a future workshop, keep an eye on my website or drop me a message to hear about upcoming dates.

Yesterday I proverbially killed two birds with one stone at the Suffolk Show โ€“ painting two new birds whilst surrounded by the beautiful artwork in the Art Show tent.

What a lovely day it was. Thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat, shared a story or took an interest in my work. It was such a joy to meet so many people and to paint live throughout the day.

I'd love to know โ€“ which is your favourite? The cheerful blue tit or the curious coal tit? ๐Ÿ’•

Starting the day with a Costa!

I need a caffeine fix this morning as I have a busy day ahead prepping for the Suffolk Show tomorrow.

As well as having some pieces in the Art Show, Ill also be painting live in the marquee!! Bit apprehensive but very excited about the opportunity to meet and chat to some new people.

Thankfully the weather has cooled down a bit and still looks ok for tomorrow โ€“ not going to lie, was getting slightly worried yesterday!

If you are going to the show today or tomorrow, have a fabulous time, and if you are there tomorrow, look out for me โ€“ Iโ€™ll be the one wearing pink ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ’•

Today was definitely not paint by numbers.

Iโ€™m super proud of how different, expressive and creative each painting became.

Some people found parts of the process really challenging at times โ€“ there were moments of frustration, overthinking and โ€œIโ€™m not sure this is workingโ€ โ€“ but honestly, thatโ€™s often where the magic starts to happen.

Nobody was simply copying a template. Everyone was experimenting, responding to colour, making brave decisions and creating something uniquely theirs.

And the lovely thing was watching people gradually switch off from everything else going on in life and become completely immersed in paint, movement and creativity for a few hours.

Not every painting needs to be perfect to be meaningful.

Sometimes the real achievement is allowing yourself to try something difficult, let go a little and surprise yourself.

I genuinely think they all created something beautiful today ๐Ÿ’•
