Join professional percussionist Iain Mellor's Drum Machine for a very special event at Semitone Studios on Saturday 7th November at 1pm.

The workshop is a fundraiser for Iain, who is going to The Gambia in December and January to record local musicians. The recordings will capture their music in its own right and also provide material for Iain’s forthcoming album. He is paying all his own costs and fundraising to pay the musicians.

Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. To book, please email [email protected] or ring 0161 826 7613 (and leave a message). A nominal (£5) fee is required to reserve your spot - Donations for the project will be gratefully received on the day.

Arrivals are from 12:30 and the workshop will start promptly at 1pm. The workshop will last an hour, followed by tea/coffee, social time, and a chance to chat with Iain.

Iain is also the featured artist at Semitone on 30 October at our usual Friday night live music event (this event is in addition to the fundraiser). You can get a sneak preview of his amazing skills and knowledge of this specialist subject. To book in for the night please email [email protected] for full details see: bit.ly/marpledrummingfun

Starting this Wednesday 9th September - 2:00pm-4:00pm/Online via Zoom

These online sessions set out to explore a range of classical music composed over the past three hundred years or so, including music in a variety of genres: orchestral, instrumental, choral and songs. The aim to is to include some well-known pieces but also to explore less familiar repertoire; there is such a wealth of music that we do not normally hear.

Cost: £140 for all twelve sessions or £14 for an individual session.
(If the cost is a hardship, please let us know and you may pay what you can afford.)

Each session is independent so why not try one out? Contact Peter Eccles to book and for login details for the sessions which will be held using Zoom, or for more information: [email protected] or call: 07715 643110.
