Marlborough Jazz Festival

Marlborough Jazz Festival Marlborough International Jazz Festival. Friday 15th- Sunday 17th July 2016

The first 3 day Marlborough Jazz weekend was introduced in 1990 after an initial proposal for the festival was first raised in 1985. This was after the creation of the charity Marlborough Festival of Music and the Arts and then the inaugural Marlborough Music & Arts Festival in 1986. In 1989 an entire day of the Festival was centered around jazz and was called: the ISIS International Jazz Day whic

h introduced the now famous Stroller ticket. In 1993 as the Festival grew in stature, it was marked by the first arrival of Jules Holland's Big Band in 1993 and they became firm favourites from a number of years afterwards with the Festival. In 1997 the Festival went truly international and has remained ever since as the Marlborough International Jazz Festival.
