Dear Parents, Carers, and Dancers of CSOD

Please read this disclaimer before continuing, notes added by Becca (the voice of reason):

To begin,

We have successfully hit every single cancellation criteria at the exact same time, I'm taking this as a WIN!

📋 POLICY BREAKDOWN:

1️⃣ Unavailable teacher:
I am physically and mentally out of office.

2️⃣ Health epidemic:
I am, and I'm sure from the messages received, that many of our Adults are also suffering this week from a severe outbreak of a condition called "life."
It is highly contagious and exhausting.

3️⃣ Severe weather conditions:

It is (insert own choice of phrase/word) HOT🔥😡

The studio can only be compared to what I'm going to term as "A human air fryer" despite best efforts to get cold air in, we are instead circulating the heat of the day and sweaty body's which turns our floor into an ice rink and our dancers into figure skaters
(Two lessons for the price of One 😉)

4️⃣ Other unforeseen events:

I can officially confirm I did not foresee any of this happening when I opened the school.

🥵 THE REALITY CHECK:

Over the last 24 hours, my inbox has been flooded with absences.
Heat/sunstroke & sunburn ☀️
Dehydration & exhaustion 😴
Tummy aches & headaches 🤕
Out-of-character behaviour 🫪
One "unknown" (which definitely means the Pinnells are in a beer garden somewhere 🍻)

As the school owner, but more importantly, as a parent with children whose brains buffer in the heat, I know this is the right decision to make for our studio and students.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The Good News: No chauffeuring in a boiling car this week! Go buy an ice lolly, sit in front of a fan and under an umbrella, and pray for rain! 🍦⛈️

P.S. While the humour in this message is very real (mostly to stop myself from crying into a fan), the cancellation is 100% official. See you all next week when hopefully it's safe to dance without melting! 🫠

For upto 12 years we have had the pleasure of teaching and guiding our original Pre-School dancers.

1000's of classes attended, 8 grade levels of examinations taken, 100's of Dance competitions attended with as many medals and trophies awarded and they are still licking the mirrors, swinging on the ballet barres and creating distractions in lessons!
