I’ve been to collect two pieces from framing today; one for exhibition and one for a much-loved customer. Soon, all will be revealed! Meanwhile, huge thanks to Charlie, Julia and all the team at On the Edge Framing & Art! Beautiful workmanship and attention to detail as always.

👉We will raise a flag on our council offices on Monday 22 June 2026 to show the district’s gratitude to the Armed Forces community.

Chairman of the council, Cllr Buddy Anderson, and other invited guests including veterans and representatives from service organisations, will attend a short ceremony in Church Square, Market Harborough, before the Armed Forces Day flag is raised on The Symington Building.

The occasion will mark the build-up to Armed Forces Day, which will take place on Saturday 27 June 2026.

Armed Forces Day is an opportunity for the nation to show its support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving personnel to Service families, veterans and cadets.

It also marks the culmination of a week of celebrations, beginning on Monday 22 June, when the public show their support and appreciation for the Armed Forces community.

The flag will fly from the building all week up until and including Armed Forces Day.

Everyone is welcome to attend the flag raising ceremony. Please arrive by 10.20am, ready for the ceremony at 10.30am.

Come sketching with Leicester Sketch Club to Market Harborough Canal Basin based around Left to Draw Studios next Thursday 18th June.

Bring a collapsible chair so you can sit where you like. Bring your paints or whatever you sketch with. Non members welcome. If it's raining we'll sketch indoors - maybe each other!

Bring a packed lunch.

🎨 CALL FOR ARTISTS
Could you bring the stories of Walsall women to life?

LGK in the Community, in partnership with Walsall Council, is looking for talented artists to create three striking murals in Walsall town centre as part of Queens of the City.

This is a chance to transform the real-life stories of 16 inspiring Walsall women into powerful public artworks that will become lasting landmarks across the borough. Each mural will also feature augmented reality, linking to short films and creating an interactive experience for residents and visitors.
There are three paid artist commissions available:

✨ Mural 1: Park Place, dimensions -12m x 6m. Artistic fee, £9000.

✨ Mural 2: Tesco Walkway, dimensions - 30m x 4m, Artistic fee, £13,000.

✨ Mural 3: TSB Building, dimensions- 9m x 4m Artistic fee, £5000.

We want to hear from artists with experience in murals, portraiture, storytelling, community projects, and heritage interpretation.
