We are getting so excited for Screen School Pro! 🎬

Running from Monday 5th August to Friday 9th August 10am - 4pm (with a longer filming day on the Friday) and aimed at children, teens and young adults, it is coming around soon so book your space now to join us.

It is such a brilliant week where you get to film a professionally-shot showreel and work in front of and behind the scenes. Showreels are invaluable if you are hoping to break into the TV and film industry. Several of our students have been signed by agents on the back of creating a showreel at Screen School Pro.

You'll also learn acting techniques, select or write your own script, be creative behind the scenes, make friends, build confidence and above all have FUN!

You don’t need to be a Screen School member to attend and if you’d rather have a non-speaking Supporting Artist role or be in the film crew, rather than acting in your own scene, then use the code CREWSA for a discount.

We all really enjoy the week. Head to our website to book. We look forward to seeing you!

You don't have to be a Screen School member to come along and you don't have to want to be an actor either. We won't be uploading the children's YouTube videos to the real YouTube, it's just for fun.

We’d recommend attending all week for the full experience but it is possible to attend certain days too.

Our founder and director Posy Sterling has spent the last two months appearing in The Cherry Orchard at the Donmar Warehouse in London and tomorrow evening the play's run comes to an end. Posy has loved being part of the play and working with such a fantastic cast and crew. Several of the Screen School team have been down to see the play, and thought it was amazing, and the cast and crew have also welcomed some of our Screen School members for a behind the scenes look at the theatre, which was a brilliant experience for them.

We are so grateful to have this insight into the industry and thank Posy and everyone involved in the play, and at the Donmar, for their time. All the best for the final performances of the play.

Creating inspiring opportunities for youngsters who want to be actors, and giving them confidence boosting experiences, is so important to us and therefore this summer we have launched a scholarship to try and benefit even more aspiring actors in the local community. The scholarship would be a funded place at this summer’s Screen School Pro 5-day course. This will enable young people, who might not normally get the chance, to create a showreel to then be able to try and break into the acting industry.

We are currently fundraising for this so please, if you can, we would be really grateful for your donations. Anything you can contribute would be appreciated so we can make this opportunity a reality. Please head to our Go Fund Me page to donate and please tell your friends and family about it too.

Last but not least, we wanted to thank MaHa Magazine for this great feature about Posy in their last edition. To have a read about how Posy got into acting, her career so far and her aspirations for Screen School, and why she set it up, head to the MaHa magazine website (link in comments).

Where’s 2024 going?! We’re now half way through the year, with the school summer holidays closing in fast!

The good news is we’ve got the perfect, not-to-be-missed holiday sessions, packed with fun and creativity. Screen School has once again lined up not one – but TWO – great opportunities!

Screen School Pro – for children, teenagers and young adults – is running from Monday 5th August to Friday 9th August. Whether you’re serious about entering the film and TV industry, or just enjoy getting creative and being part of something wonderfully collaborative, this five-day course is for you! You’ll have a unique opportunity to work with industry professionals, both in front of and behind the camera, and make your own showreel which is not only an unforgettable experience, but something you’ll be able to show your friends and family, or – if you’re more serious about getting into film and TV – show to agents and casting directors.

As well as this, our brilliant and hugely popular, Summer Camp – YouTube week, for 5-11 year olds, is running again when it will be time to get seriously creative over five days! Last year, participants got to make their own stop-motion animations as well as practice their YouTube vlogging! This year promises to be even more fun-packed, so don’t miss out. Join us from Monday 12th August to Friday 16th August, 9am – 3pm.

Book both courses and you’ll get 10% off the price of each! Use the code SUMMERCOMBO (Screen School Members contact us for your code).

Places will fill up fast so book now via our website.

This summer we are launching our first Screen School Pro scholarship! We are so excited to bring this opportunity to Market Harborough for young people who aspire to be actors.

From Monday 5th August to Friday 9th August 2024 we’re running our Screen School Pro course. This 5-day course includes a professionally shot showreel scene, professional headshots and a how-to-guide about launching your career as an actor.

Having a showreel is invaluable if you are looking to break into the film and TV industry. It shows agents and casting directors what you can do and is so beneficial when you’re trying to get signed by an agent. Many of our previous Screen School Pro students now have agents. But it’s not easy to get a showreel, especially a professionally produced one, and so we have launched our scholarship to make this an opportunity available to all. We want to fund a minimum of 3 spaces for this summer’s Screen School Pro, for young people who live in the local community who are put forward by their schools.

It’s a brilliant week. The students have fun, learn to collaborate, build their confidence, get to be creative and make friends. They learn acting techniques and, as well as being filmed in their scenes by a professional Director of Photography, they get to try out different roles behind the camera too. All in a SEND friendly environment.

But before we can open up the application process we need your help! We need your donations to make this fantastic opportunity for youngsters in our community a reality. Please head to our Go Fund Me page (link in comments) to donate what you can and please share with your friends, your family, where you work, and on your social media about our fundraising campaign.

Let’s do this! Thank you!

Last Saturday Screen School member Clara was in London to see Matilda the Musical and afterwards was invited by Posy Sterling (founder and Director of Screen School) to pop down the road to the Donmar Warehouse where Posy is currently appearing in the Chekhov play ‘The Cherry Orchard’.

Clara was given a tour of the theatre, shown behind the scenes and saw how things work together to put on the performance. She also got to meet the cast, who were all so friendly and welcoming, and join them for their warm up before their evening performance. Clara loved talking to Adeel Akhtar about the Enola Holmes scene she recently worked on at Screen School Jumpers.

What an incredible experience and one she definitely won’t forget. Thank you so much to Posy, the cast and crew of The Cherry Orchard and to the Donmar Warehouse.

Our 11+ acting group has had a great time working on their Fate: The Winx Saga project. The three week long project has involved learning a scene from the Netflix series, filming techniques, working together to look at what camera angles to use for filming the scene, a Q & A from two of the stars of the series and then this Sunday they'll be filming and all having the opportunity to work behind and in front of the camera.

Send us a DM if you're interested in joining the Hybrids for their next project, if you'd like to come along for a free trial, or to discuss pay-as-you-go options for our weekly classes. The group meets on Sundays in Market Harborough 3.30pm - 6pm and is for aspiring actors, creatives or film makers aged 11 years and above or for those who'd like to do something different, build up their confidence and learn something new.

All the best to our founder and Director Posy Sterling for this evening's first preview of The Cherry Orchard at the Donmar Warehouse.

Everyone at Screen School is so proud of Posy being cast in this exciting production of Anton Chekhov's play, directed by Benedict Andrews. It has been a brilliantly creative and enriching experience for Posy so far and now it's time for the two month run to start.

There are limited tickets available but we'd like to advise our Screen School members that the play is for those aged 14 years and above.

Have the best time Posy and we know you'll be amazing!

Join us this Sunday at Screen School Hybrids when we’ll have a special Q & A and message from two of the stars of Netflix fantasy series Fate: The Winx Saga, Sadie Soverall and Éanna Hardwicke, who are currently in rehearsals with our founder and director Posy Sterling for The Cherry Orchard at the Donmar Warehouse.

Sadie, who plays the exciting role of Beatrix in Fate, was seen last year in Saltburn and Little Bone Lodge and most recently in The Gathering on Channel 4 and the UK release of Arcadian with Nicholas Cage.

Éanna played Sebastian in The Winx Saga and has been nominated this year for a BAFTA, IFTA, and won an RTS award, for his performance in The Sixth Commandment, as well as winning awards for his lead role in feature film, Lakelands.

We can't wait to share Sadie's and Éanna's message with our members at the class and in our private members area and we're so grateful to them for taking the time to do it – thank you!

As well as this we’ll be putting into practice all we've been learning recently - filming techniques in front of and behind the camera, camera angles and shots, acting specifically for screen and editing skills – as we start an exciting Fate: The Winx Saga project.

Contact us now to join these sessions (for those 11 years and over) and if you haven’t been before come along for your first class for free! Book online or send us a DM.

Sunday 21st April, Sunday 28th April and Sunday 5th May
