Great British Prom

Happy New Year to you all! As many of you would have seen, the amazing Mr Michael Bublé is performing at Blickling the week prior to the Proms weekend. We are sure that you can understand that we don't feel that we can compete with such an incredible name and we have made the decision to rest the Proms again in 2020. Wishing you all a healthy and happy year and look forward to seeing you in 2021.

It is with mixed feelings that we announce that the Great British Prom will take a break in 2019, with a view to returning even better in 2020!

Sometimes it is good to take a break, with a view to coming back with renewed vigour. As you will all remember the Great British weather worked against us last year. However, we know that so many of you love this event and this is why we would like to ask what you would like to see? We have a year to plan something really special so please tell us your ideas either here on our page or via email - [email protected].

We are so honoured to have with us at the Proms this year to celebrate and commemorate the RAF 100th. The plans are in place for the Sunset Ceremony - this will be a moment we will not forget! Another moment we cannot wait for is the reading of "High Flight" by Group Captain Townsend of RAF Marham. Join us for a night to remember!

Not only will there be some incredible voices at Blickling Estate NT on 11th August - there will also be some incredible engines!! The grounds of Blickling will resonate once again to the unmistakable sounds of the Rolls-Royce Spitfire as the concert opens to Walton's "Spitfire Prelude and Fugue." The second half will see something completely new with the incredible aeroSPARX performing to Walton's "Battle in the Air" and "Goodwin's "Battle of Britain". A truly spectacular evening awaits!!

There will be some incredible voices singing at Blickling Estate NT on 11th August. The gorgeous Philippa Healey will be performing songs such as "I Could Have Danced All Night", "We'll Meet Again" and "White Cliffs of Dover". Cranwell Military Wives Choir will be performing their incredible "We Will Remember Them".

We are proud to be supporting the RAF Benevolent Fund at the Great British Prom Blickling Estate NT in 2018. They exist to support current and former members of the RAF, their partners and dependants, whenever they are in need. In 2017 they spent £17.6m supporting more than 55,000 members of the RAF Family. We hope to make a hefty contribution to them after the concert.
