The swifts are back!
We’re delighted to announce the return of Swift Weekend from 26-28 June, with three days of free activities celebrating the remarkable birds that return to our skies each summer.

Join us for workshops, a biodiversity walk, a swift talk, family activities, music, film screenings and community action inspired by Margate’s local swift colony.
Many of the weekend’s workshops and creative activities are led by Bon Volks artists and makers, who are looking forward to welcoming you throughout the weekend.
The programme also includes a biodiversity walk exploring the green corridors that help wildlife move, thrive and connect across Margate, exploring , Windmill Community Gardens Margate and Dane Park.
Throughout the weekend, we’ll be running community swift surveys across Margate, including a special dawn survey at 5am, inviting residents to look up, spot swifts and contribute to local conservation efforts.
All events are free to attend. Some activities have limited capacity and require booking.
