This historic ceremony has marked the Sovereign’s official birthday for over 260 years, sees the King’s personal flag “trooped” through the ranks of the Household Division, accompanied by hundreds of soldiers, horses, and musicians.

From the early fat‑stock shows of the 1800s to today’s vibrant agricultural events, livestock have always taken centre stage.

See our cows, sheep and goats in the Livestock Area up close, catch the judging throughout the morning, and don’t miss them in the Grand Parade in the President’s Ring in the afternoon.

A true celebration of farming, past and present. 🐄🐑🐐

The Celebration of Education Marquee, sponsored by Pool, is bursting with colour, creativity and community spirit. 📚✏️

With 22 schools and nurseries exhibiting this year, it’s one of the most vibrant parts of the Show — and every display has been crafted with so much care. Make sure you pop in for a look around!

This year’s competitions are full of fun:

• A planted, decorated pair of wellies
• A scarecrow made from recycled materials
• A string of bunting inspired by this year’s theme: “Our Communities – Our Show”

Our Artists Workshop with Amanda Townley is back too, with two sessions where children can make their own bee‑themed keepsakes.

There are brilliant prizes to be won — from Penguin Random House book bundles to M&S vouchers — plus a special display of entries from THFC members’ children and grandchildren, including community artwork, fruit/veg animals and decorated cakes.

It’s joyful, it’s inspiring, and it’s a must‑visit on Show Day.

Step back in time with the Colchester Vintage Motor Club.

They're showcasing around 50 pre‑1940 vehicles, kindly sponsored by Reeman Dansie — from cars and motorbikes to steam lorries — all lovingly owned and still regularly driven by their members.

The Club has been part of our Show for nearly six decades, and this year they’re also featuring a handful of post‑war classics to highlight how vehicle design transformed from the 1920s through to the 1960s.

Take a stroll through the display, enjoy the craftsmanship, and chat to the owners — they’re always happy to share the stories behind their vehicles.

You can also see the ever-popular parade of vintage cars in the President's Ring. 🚗🚙🛵

Did you know you don't need to be a farmer to be a Young Farmer? 🚜

Wix and Colchester YFC welcome anyone aged 16–28 with an interest in rural life. Their members include teachers, tradespeople, a journalist and farmers — no farming background needed!

Essex has 10 clubs meeting weekly for tours, talks, competitions, sports and socials. Recent highlights include cricket, a quiz night, dog walking in Dedham and sunny pub evenings. It's an incredible way to meet friends and become part of a close-knit community.

Fundraising is a huge part of Young Farmers. This year alone they’ve hosted a summer party supporting Neuroendocrine Cancer UK and Tendring Specialist Stroke Services, and taken on the full Christmas tree cycle — selling, delivering and collecting.

Find the Wix & Colchester Young Farmers Tent next to the pylon gate - they’ll be around all day to chat about how to get involved, or what life in the club is really like. Or if you like a competition, come and cheer them on in a battle of Tug of War in the President's Ring!
