Is Christianity part of the solution to the climate crisis... or part of the problem?

It's a question that has sparked debate for decades.

Some argue that the biblical instruction to "have dominion" over the Earth has contributed to environmental destruction. Others believe faith communities have a vital role to play in protecting creation and inspiring action.

So where does the truth lie?

Join Martin Poulsom from Operation Noah for what promises to be a fascinating and thought-provoking evening exploring climate change as a faith issue. Whether you're a person of faith, an environmentalist, both, or neither, this is an opportunity to hear a different perspective and take part in an open conversation about one of the defining challenges of our time.

You don't need to be religious to attend. You do need to be curious.

📅 Wednesday 10th June - 7.30pm
🎟 Free to attend
📍 Mistley Parish Church, CO11 1ER

Join us for a gentle guided walk through the ancient woodland of Furze Hill, Mistley, home to magnificent veteran trees including “Old Knobbley” (below) – believed to be over 800 years old – along with the wildlife and fascinating history woven around them.

Expert guides Bob Gooding and John Hall will lead the walks, sharing stories about the woodland’s birds and wildlife, the old Rigby estate, and even the remains of a WW2 army base and anti-aircraft batteries near the Secret Bunker.

The walks are family-friendly, suitable for children over 12, and well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome too.

Saturday 6 June
Walk times: 1pm, 2pm, 3pm & 4pm

❄️ From the Arctic Ice to Manningtree – This Friday!

Join us for an extraordinary evening with Mike Keen (), fresh from a remarkable solo expedition across the frozen sea ice of northern Greenland.

Spending four weeks travelling across Melville Bay and surviving on a traditional Inuit diet, Mike's latest research explores the crucial role seals have played in sustaining Greenland's Inuit communities for thousands of years.

Drawing on his firsthand experiences, Mike will discuss:
🐟 How humans have adapted to different diets throughout history
🧬 The changing nutritional value of food sources
🌍 The impact of climate change on traditional Inuit ways of life
🍽️ What ancient food systems can teach us about the challenges facing our modern diet

This fascinating talk combines adventure, science, anthropology and environmental change in a way that will leave you thinking differently about food, culture and our relationship with the natural world.

🎟️ Places are limited – book now to avoid disappointment.
