We are bringing you a hand-picked selection of vinyl DJs to supply the hardcore sounds for our afternoon session on Saturday 27th June at the Bag Factory, Manchester, starting at 2.30pm till 11.30pm.
Across our previous night's we've always aimed to have a good mix of vinyl and digital DJs. For this one we wanted to do something a bit different and go all vinyl.
Easy enough you'd think, but finding the right vinyl DJs for this wasn't as easy as you'd expect. It seems to be that everyone nowadays plays digital (which is fine, I do too) but this is not what this particular afternoon was to be about, we wanted this as an afternoon purely for the true vinyl heads out there.
For this session, being hosted by Bangfish and alongside some of the Aftermath Hardcore residents being Nick Anarchy, Sinsomatik, Andy Sparkee and theTerrorisT, I'd like to introduce our guests -
Andy Tekno - Andy Tekno Finney - "Cutting his teeth in the raw underground of the late 90's, Andy Tekno first stepped behind the decks at illegal outdoor parties - where the energy was unfiltered and the foundations of a lifelong passion were built. From those early days, he quickly broke into the club circuit, becoming a regular at the iconic Species Manchester and delivering high impact sets across some of the UK's most respected rave brands including, Diehard, Vibealite, Fantasy Island, Illusion and Fantazia. Renowned for his versatility and deep-rooted connection to rave culture, Andy Tekno brings a sound that channels the true spirit of the underground - blending 90's jungle techno, techno rave and European bouncy techno, right through to the harder edge of gabber. Every set is built for the dancefloor and provides relentless rave vibes from start to finish."
Scotty - Species Manchester - "Vinyl ju**ie since 1993, always the sound of the underground, Species resident and promotor - Stockport massive... Let the music do the talking." Species classic set 2000 to 2004 ...
Irrational - "Currently operating out of North Wales, Irrational has played at various events and festivals up and down the UK, including Terrorween, Rigormortis and Sound City Festival to mention a few. This DJ will be dropping bangers not anthems!! Alongside this, Irrational has been running Overclocked Records since '21 bringing his stall to various parties around the UK including Aftermath Hardcore, and The Unit.
Mike Smash - "Mike Smash has been club DJ'ing since 2004, starting with Happy Hardcore but quickly moving to Gabber, Hardcore Techno and Terror. He can be heard playing anything from 170bpm to 250bpm and definitely not a one genre DJ. Promoter / owner of the Manchester hardcore night Sectioned Core which ran from 2007-2012. Has played all over the UK at events such as Fantasia, Vibealite, Hard as F**K, Deathlab, Freakcore, Missing in Manchester, Stomp and many more! In 2007 he turned his hand to producing and has had releases on GGM, Deng Deng Hardcore Music, TOXIC SICKNESS and Rave Muzik.
Sick Nick - Nick Perriman - Our competition winner! Sick Nick is hardcore vinyl through and through and has been for the last 25 years. Has previously represented Aftermath Hardcore on TOXIC SICKNESS radio and after his competition mix entry, we decided that it's time for Nick to step up and make the next move. Nick says he was inspired and influenced by watching the Producer in his early days, Sick Nick's style ranges from gabber to hardcore, from the 90's to the more modern sounds.
