Planning a visit this Bank Holiday, Monday 31st August? ☀️

Whether you’re getting a workout in, making a splash in the pool or planning a day out with the family, there’s plenty to enjoy across Active Tameside.

🎳 Strike up some fun at Tameside Wellness Centre with Bowling and HyperBowling, an interactive twist on the traditional game, perfect for a little friendly competition with friends and family.

🧗 Make a day of it at Adventure Medlock, with plenty to keep everyone entertained. Reach new heights on Clip ’n’ Climb, take on the High Ropes, head underground with Caving, put your skills to the test with Bouldering, or let little adventurers burn off some energy in Soft Play.

Water might look inviting in the heat, but it can be unpredictable and dangerous. Knowing what to do, before and during an emergency, can save lives.

Anyone can drown, no one should.

Drowning prevention starts with YOU:
👀 Supervise children & don’t look away when they're near water
🦺 Use safety equipment like life jackets & make sure they’re in place before going out on a boat
🏊‍♂️ Learn to swim, or if you can’t swim, stay away from the water
🌧️ Check the weather conditions, the depth of the water & the strength of the current before entering the water
🚫 Don’t drink alcohol near water. It dulls your senses & can cause fatal accidents near water

Remember! Drowning is often silent & goes unnoticed.
Watch for the signs when someone is struggling to stay afloat, it’s never too soon to respond.
