ANNOUNCEMENT
We have some news for you in that we have decided, for personal reasons to stop hosting MCR Sew Socials.

A big thank you to everyone who attended a Sew Social event over the past seven years or so and to those of you who were involved in some way. Each of you made it such a special community, especially those of you who became friends, which was the aim in the offset to start a community and meet new folks. Thank you for getting involved and for supporting our events.

This is not a goodbye. Keep in touch with us on our personal accounts found linked in our bio (this account will no longer be monitored). Rowan is starting a new social if you wish to hear more, follow her account for updates.

I’m feeling all inspired looking back at this incredible cross stitch of ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’ by who’s been working on it at the last few socials.

It always makes me so happy to see everyone enjoying their projects, sharing tips, and having a good natter at our socials. There’s such a lovely buzz when we all get together, making away and sharing our passion.

Hello lovely stitchers! We just wanted to send a massive thank you to everyone who booked a spot for our social tomorrow.

However, after careful consideration, we’ve made the tough decision to cancel tomorrow’s social. As you know, the heart of our socials is the lively and creative atmosphere we make together. Looking at the ticket numbers, we just didn’t feel we’d have enough attendees this time to truly deliver that vibrant social experience we want to provide.

But we’re already looking forward to our next social and we’ll announce details for it soon 🙂

Ever feel stuck in a creative rut? Being surrounded by other makers is a fantastic way to get inspired. Seeing different projects, colour combinations, and techniques can spark new ideas you might never have thought of on your own, like this unconventional cross stitch on vellum done by at our last social. Taking a moment just for you can feel like a luxury sometimes, can’t it? Our socials are all about carving out a couple of precious hours to immerse yourself in the joy of making.

No chores, no deadlines, just the gentle rhythm of your needle or hook and the company of fellow makers. It’s a chance to switch off from the everyday, get lost in your current project (or start a new one) and simply be.

Come and treat yourself to some well-deserved time to unwind, connect, and nurture your creative spirit.

🧵 TONIGHT | We had a break, but today MCR Sew Social is back on!

Thanks to everyone who has got hold of a ticket and is hoping to attend tonight’s event. If you’d like to be there too, then head to the link in our bio where you’ll will find the Eventbrite link.

I’m afraid I’m rather unwell 🤧 and will join you next month. But Rowan will greet you at the usual long table behind the Ducie Street bar from 5:30pm.

I’ll be stitching along on this new piece in spirit from home. This scene is inspired by warmer weather in late spring and seeing wild foxglove flowers in a landscape after looking directly at the sun. Everything blurred into lots of layered bright circles. ✨Like stars in your eyes.
