LEGROOM

LEGROOM LEGROOM explores the expanded field of dance and movement also within the contexts of other art forms opening up conversations around physicality.

LEGROOM is a Franco-British curatorial project based in Manchester, exploring the potential of movement, visual arts and live art through artist-led events and workshop-based processes, using curation to translate movement through other art forms, facilitate collaboration and provide accessible platforms for the public to both participate in and see new and interdisciplinary work. Since June 2017

LEGROOM have curated a space in Manchester City Center and our program currently runs up until Winter 2017, with an array of international and local artist events, development opportunities for discussion and cross-discipline workshops. The space acts as a temporal platform and a development space for making interdisciplinary visual arts and movement projects engaging local artists and audiences with international artists/organisations to expand the possibilities for spatially and physically engaged works in Manchester. LEGROOM is supported by Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces. Castlefield Gallery is a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England. More on New Art Spaces:
Castlefield Gallery’s New Art Spaces (NAS) is an initiative to create dynamic project spaces for artists, artist collectives and artist development agencies. Making use of temporary vacant retail, office and light industrial units, NAS provides opportunities for emerging creatives to incubate their practices, produce work and showcase new art to local communities. Currently CG runs New Art Spaces in Chorlton, Leigh and Salford.
