The premier security, training and consultancy specialist for live events. But we also recognize that diversity exists between the various audience profiles.

Company Profile

CES (formerly known as Special Projects Security) was founded in 1989 in direct response to the Governments call for improvements in safety at football grounds in the wake of the Hillsborough disaster and the ensuing Taylor Report. The company's first and now longest standing client is Manchester United Football Club. It was quickly realized however that the valuable lessons and principals learnt from managing large crowds at Old Trafford could be applied in other arenas and venues. Consequently CES began to expand its business to those areas where large crowds came together for the purposes of watching sport or entertainment, and where customer safety was the primary consideration. Consequently, we place great emphasis on the interpersonal skills of our staff to ensure that they are able to deliver the highest standards of customer care and service within our varying environments. The provision of highly trained, accredited and licensed safety and security personnel to the sports, leisure and entertainment industry still remains the 'core' business of the group through CES. However, that company has now grown from its original mission statement through the incorporation of Controlled Guarding Solutions to include the guarding of sports, leisure and ancillary facilities (including key holding services), and Controlled Training Solutions, providing recognized training and accredited qualifications.

We just wanted to say thank you, for all staff that worked the NSPPD 2026 event on Saturday, it was a challenging, long day. The professionalism and adaptability you showed though some extremely difficult circumstances doesn’t go unrecognised. Our client, MUFC and CSG wanted to show our appreciation, working closely with the event organiser, the UK Prayer Conference, it was difficult organising an event on that scale at the Old Trafford Stadium.
However, CSG showed their ability to adapt and overcome, to ensure a safe and successful event.
We just wanted to say thank you and well done!
It doesn’t go unrecognised; we are proud of our achievements and how we supported MUFC in delivering the NSPPD 2026 event.

CSG’s management staff summer social event took place at Muncaster Castle

An absolutely Beautiful venue with Amazing hard working staff.

From Axe throwing, archery, crossbow to Falconry and Owl displays.

Muncaster Castle in Cumbria has been home to the Pennington family for over 800 years. Built upon Roman foundations, the site evolved from a 14th-century border pele tower into a Victorian Gothic-styled mansion, overseen by the family without ever being sold.

*** Employee of the Month June ***

Congratulations to Nathan Buckley who was nominated as employee of the month for June. Nathan started working at CSG as a casual steward back in 2008, then started full time at the stadium in March 2011.

Nathan goes above and beyond, works at Old Trafford Stadium, supervises when needed, works at our other venues as and when. Nathan works very hard and is a pleasure to work with, he adopts a positive attitude, and does a fantastic job in everything he does, the client absolutely love him and so do we.

Well Done Nathan very well deserved. 👍 please Enjoy the Chocs and Amazon voucher, we look forward to celebrating with you to announce the employee of the year!
