Absolutely brilliant news - our wonderful founder Jacqui Carroll has secured Arts Council funding for our drama group!!

We are absolutely , absolutely overjoyed to receive this letter . We’ve got Arts Council Funding for REEL Blackley Drama. Honestly overjoyed doesn’t come close to what we’re feeling . They deserve this so much. We start on our next project Blackley Shorts early May . Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this bid and a massive thank you to everyone at REEL Blackley Drama for being brilliant . Next we need to restore the stage and get that wheelchair lift . Very happy ###xx

Great news - we started back to rehearsals on Monday 9th Feb, 4.30 til 6.30 at Higher Blackley Community Centre! New members always welcome - no experience needed, just turn up and give it a go. And the best part - it's totally FREE!!

We're very pleased to share our annual Blackley Pantomime, Cinderella. So very proud of absolutely everyone, this year was our best yet. Miss Stacey you shone as Cinders, the kids absolutely loved it and everyone said it's better than the Panto at the Midd Arena that costs a fortune. REEL Blackley Drama going from strength to strength, love you all and thank you so much. We've certainly had some year. Happy Christmas to everyone.

🎉✨ BLACKLEY PANTO IS BACK — AND THIS ONE’S EXTRA SPECIAL! ✨🎉
We’re so excited to invite all our lovely Blackley families to our third Blackley Panto… and this year we’ve gone full traditional with a brilliant Blackley twist on Cinderella 👠💙
And guess what?
It stars our very own — the amazing Stacey Madden as Cinderella! 🌟
We can’t wait for you to see her shine on stage!
You’ll also spot some real Blackley favourites, including our Joel Pantry, and we’ll be paying tribute to Blackley legend Pinder ❤️

SUNDAY 21st December – 1:30pm
If demand is high (and it usually is!) we’ll add a second show at 3pm.

Fantastic rehearsal tonight, improvising three scenes - lots of brilliantly funny material for our scriptwriters to refine! You were all so, so good tonight, the panto is going to be ace!

Great news - we start rehearsals again this Monday (27th October)!! Our scriptwriting team met yesterday and are working hard behind-the-scenes. Hope to see you all on Monday at Higher Blackley Community Centre at 4.30 pm 😊🎭👍🎉

Due to a slight hiccup with the funding, our Monday sessions are cancelled for a few weeks. But the good news is that this will give our scriptwriting team a chance to work on the script so that when we come back we can get straight into rehearsing for our panto. There's lots of work that goes on behind the scenes in order for this all to go ahead. We will let you all know the date of our next session - watch this space!
