Ice Cream and bees, what could be more summer? I don't want summer to come to an end, so I immortalised it in this edition of the Amber Bombus. Further ice cream styles to come!
You may notice the legs of these bees are different, i have remodeled them to include a metal peg in the join. Occasionally, I would have a bee arrive with a broken leg!!! That simply wouldn't do, I only ever intend to give the best to those who collect my critters. This simple change makes them much stronger, and a bit more realistic as well! I will be making them available sooooon!
I only have TWO of these little ladies left. They were made for Con in Leeds, which is such an amazing Con. You should head over to their page to look at all the hard work they put in for their artists, and check out some of the gorgeous work the artists do. They are all really the best community I could have ever imagined being a part of. This Sunday, four lovely little Amber Bombus will finally be available for purchase through my website! With their lovely new bases, and new position style. Also, apologies for not posting this info yesterday as I said I would on my last post, I got caught up in home renovation as I'm getting ready to move! Woo!
This MIGHT be the last of the Amber Bombus in this style (not counting the special edition that will be available later this year of course), it really depends on a lot. The mold that I use for these little ladies is finally starting to degrade. This is my most popular creature, and the mold is wearing down. Either a new one will be sculpted, or the mold will be recast. I haven't landed on a firm decision yet. If I do re-sculpt the bee, I want it to be posable! More on that another time though.

Giveaway this Wednesday! Woohoo! Look at these! I'm very proud of the work I put in to these new bee bases. I was always just satisfied with the previous bases I created. They were cute, but not what I really wanted. It took a lot of thought before I came up with these. Learning a few new skills along the way. They open up some future possibilities I have planned as well.
So, about that giveaway. The upmost front base was my very first. I only decided to change the design a bit after that, but it's still beautiful. I had a choice. Keep it for myself, or offer it as a giveaway. Well, I do love to do giveaways, so of course I chose that. AND of course I will be including a bee in that! Yeah! Not just the base! I've been working for too long on a new base for the bees. It took several tries to get this just right! I mean, how hard can it be to convince a bee to make honey in a box? Right?
