DON’T MISS Inua Ellams and Yomi Sode at Contact!

Both Inua’s The Actual and Yomi’s Manorism take aim at the legacies of the British Empire – racism, classism, toxic masculinity and trauma.

Woven with references to white cultural figures from Shakespeare to Caravaggio and sharp critiques of the likes of Piers Morgan, they ask what it means to live as a Black man in Britain today.

Alongside his poetry, Inua will give a sneak preview of his narrative, funny, emotive forthcoming The Actual Essays.

Presented by the incredible Manchester Literature Festival.

FRAUDULENT ADVERT I am receiving adverts from a Company called Red Coral who are supposedly selling extremely cheap Chinese Copies of Expensive Guitars. At Christmas I paid for one and the guitar NEVER arrived. The company then was known by the name Music Dream Factory and my Credit Card Company is investigating them. They are operating a FRAUD and should be prosecuted! They change the name of the Company. This is the third incarnation that I have seen.

Hi all, please do come to support myself and The Lipstick Thespians next Tuesday and Wednesday in Up the Bunting at Bar Pop! Thanks. :) Information below: https://www.greatermanchesterfringe.co.uk/details.php?show_id=71 *************** Up the Bunting! Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th July, 8pm downstairs at Bar Pop, 10 canal Street, Manchester. It is a two hander comedy, and approximately an hour in duration. 'Hilarious...Excellent..Brilliant!' (North West End **** 4 stars) 'Cartwright's powerful but never OTT performance and comedic skill and Donald's more serious monologues were excellently judged' (Manchester Salon). We are back by popular demand with an extended version for The Greater Manchester Fringe! It's the local village fete and Colin is very excited! He just loves browsing the ‘bric-a-brac.’ This year, however, things are different! Where has hook-a duck gone? Why are there strange sounds coming out of a tent that wasn’t there last year? Beyond the trestle tables and beneath the bunting things are…CHANGING! Colin is about to have an encounter with the ‘force of nature' that is, Lisa that will perhaps change his life forever. Back by popular demand, this compelling one act play ‘brings tears of laughter...inspired and original’ “The play is ultra-funny and poignant, evocative and heartfelt, delivered impeccably” Fran Gill. ‘The Bee Tree’ ‘Excellent! With its poignant message of love, death, hope and magic’! Produced by The Lipstick Thespians (www.thelipstickthespians.co.uk) Directed by Alexis Tuttle Written by Stephen Donald Lisa-played by Hayley Cartwright Colin-played by Stephen Donald *******************
