What a beautiful community event at Peel Park today. We ran two activities, one of which was inspired by the plants and flowers growing in the park. Everyone produced excellent observational drawings in the sunshine.

We are all set for our creative activities at Peel Park tomorrow to celebrate its 180th birthday! Pop down and make birthday postcards using vintage images, stickers and colourful collage. There will also be an opportunity to complete some mindful sketching of the monuments and beautiful plants and flowers too! It's all free and we would love to see you between 11am - 3pm on Saturday 22nd August!

Happy to announce that our term time classes for children and young people are available to book and we hope to see lots of young creatives in the studio this September!

Our courses are...

🫟Make It Club on Sunday mornings for 6-12 year olds

We had the most amazing Weaving Waste into Wonder class today! Each participant produced brilliant purses using old curtain fabric. Everyone learned...

💜 How to sew up the sides of their purses using our refurbished sewing machines
🩵 How to attach a plastic snap
💚 How to create a neat blanket stitch

A massive thank you goes to our Director Helen for making all of the purse templates and supporting the sewing machine work, and our Director Eliott (aka Popper Man) for assisting with the popper fastenings.

I've not been posting as frequently as usual - August is a funny month where we are out of the usual routine at the studio. We have a few workshops and one off events coming up, but I'm mainly conducting personal tuition, preparing resources, doing lots of planning, ordering materials and my favourite pastime... admin! All the opportunities for the autumn term are up and listed on the website if you are keen to get back to regular art making with us. Any questions, just ask 😊
