BLACK WAX is a musical-political entertainment film produced and directed by Robert Mugge. It centers on the late African American poet-singer-songwriter Gil Scott-Heron - the man Melody Maker called "the most dangerous musician alive" and many dubbed the forefather of rap music - and his Midnight Band. The entertainment is political. HD from the original 16mm film and lovingly restored.

Jimmy is Punk tells the story of (arguably) the Netherlands’ first punk band, PANIC, via remarkable footage of an adrenaline-fuelled live performance unleashed in May 1978 on an unsuspecting venue in the provincial town of Gouda – ferocious guitars, flying fire extinguishers, subversive riffs on German philosophers and all.

Winner of the Best Music Documentary Award at DOC LA (DOC LA. Los Angeles Documentary Film Festival) in Los Angeles and the Grand Prix at FAME in Paris in 2020, Duco Donk's film is a compellingly immersive and often very funny tale of a maverick band that roared to life in 1976 and vanished just two years later.

Where Does A Body End? is an intimate portrait of the band SWANS (Swans). From their roots as a brutal, confrontational post-punk band that emerged from the same early 1980s era NYC that gave us Sonic Youth (and, somehow, Madonna) through their ill-fated bid at mainstream success in the 90s indie-rock goldrush.

Through breakups and chaos (on and offstage) to their odds-defying current status as one of the most accomplished and ambitious bands in the world, one whose concerts are more like ecstatic rituals than nostalgic trips back through their most popular songs.

The savage and tender extremes of SWANS told with unprecedented access to the band as well as never before seen archive material and interviews documenting their 35-year career. Beautiful. Brutal. Uncompromising.

Martin Newell is a poet, raconteur, songwriting genius and the Godfather of British LoFi. Upstairs Planet is an independent film about the greatest band you've possibly not heard of: Cleaners From Venus!

They were the jangly-guitar, synth-driven outliers from the edges of the 1980s, and beyond. Looking like the "keeper of a 19th-century asylum", in Upstairs Planet, Newell gives us his eccentric, irascible world view and hints at why he's admired by so many well-known artistes (MGMT, Ariel Pink's Darkside, John Cooper Clarke and others)

They say you had to be there - but JIMMY IS PUNK, an award-winning, head-spinning doc about first-wave Dutch mayhem merchants PANIC is the closest thing to a #punkrock time machine you'll ever experience.

Built by director Duco Donk from long-lost footage of a funny, ferocious, fixture-imperilling 1978 gig unleashed on an unsuspecting provincial town, JIMMY IS PUNK captures the short-lived band's bulletproof tunes, raging riffs and charismatic frontman Peter Penthouse's determination to lead a beer-soaked crowd of kids into mayhem... and give the venue staff the surprise of their lives.

Sweat and stage invasions, German philosophers and fire extinguishers, teenage kicks and tiny underpants: now that's what we call #punk!

JIMMY IS PUNK is now available worldwide via Doc'n Roll TV, featuring a BONUS interview with Peter Penthouse and John Robb, Membranes/Gold Blade frontman and Louder than War journalist.
