Can I just say: when someone steals your business idea...the damage caused cannot even be put into words. The 'Manchester Coffee Festival' is a stolen festival.
I am the founder of the Chorlton Coffee Festival in Manchester, England. The festival to follow, the business to follow, the Manchester Coffee Festival was my vision and it has been coopted by two former volunteers - or more - that I recruited for the Chorlton Coffee Festival.
When you are a visionary and have ideas, you must be willing to get those ideas go, because the world is full of thieves and it is a natural phenomenon to take an idea and run with it. We know from Apple and Microsoft that thievery is a real thing, and enemies can dig their heels in the trenches and we know the twists and turns that competition can create and make of good men and women.
Cup North was the vision of those who created it, but the switch to Manchester Coffee Festival two months ago without permission, and the low blow attempts to claim this brand under the auspices of Cup North which must be, in some way, failing to make the impact needed, or this would have never happened, is remarkable. I have sat, hurt and angry, and silent, for too long.
The petty behaviours of unconscionable women and men may make a commercial success, but the lack of integrity will forever be a tattoo on their work and in the minds of those who know what they did. If they're lucky or clever enough, maybe one day someone will ascribe the term 'genius' to their antics. But...we'll see. Time will tell. They hope. For them, I hope so, too, because now it is just a giant scam.
So, there you go.
You now know that The Manchester Coffee Festival is a fraudulent enterprise, and while the love of coffee is something we all shared at one time, this is a classic grab at your attention that you may probably choose to accept. I wouldn't blame you, coffee afficionados. Just know that someone was hurt in the process, and badly.
This was my dream. This was my business idea. It was my name. I own the URLs for it. I invited the people who started to continue with a vision together. They chose to be exclusionary for reasons I will never know. Power it seems. Personality. The status of creating it themselves. Except they never did. They stole a brand, and in business this is done but it will never be respected finally or fully, I think. Not when the truth comes out. So, I am letting it out. Now.
Thank you for considering in good faith whether you wish to support the endeavours of Cup North. It may be a good event, but underneath, something really dirty and murky exists in the brewing waters.
