Today in Shanghai, my food was on the table… being warmed and still boiling 🔥

I couldn’t eat it — it was too hot 😅

Then I remembered how, growing up in Yorùbá culture, we were told:
‘Don’t eat food while it’s still cooking.’

Not really a taboo… just wisdom.
They were protecting us from burning our tongue.

Sometimes what we call ‘tradition’ is simply discipline in disguise.
