Manchester Pride Charity is 2 Orgs with: NO PERSONS OF SIGNIFICANT CONTROL (No PSC)

If you are an artist who has not been paid please contact [email protected] and see the local independent amazing Manchester Mill with live updates here: https://manchestermill.co.uk/exclusive-manchester-pride-is-on-the-brink-of-collapse/

"Manchester Pride Ltd is, like most significant charities, both a registered company and a registered charity, and it has been criticised in the past (* see 1st link below) for veering away from its campaigning mission and becoming overly commercial. It also operates a non-profit events company called Manchester Pride Events, (* see 2nd link below) which is a subsidiary of the main entity."

4 directors resign here in the last few months

https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/06272087/filing-history

Is there a statement from the 'pledge agreement' via bar's that are the only corporate businesses profiting who made this agreement here in 2022? https://www.manchesterpride.com/press-room:-manchester-pride-supported-by-the-village-licenced-busines. No Pledge Band, No Entry to Village venues during the Manchester Pride Festival. NB this does NOT stop 'pop-up bars'

It is HEART-BREAKING that the top £ Manchester PRIDE directors over many years have taken such high pay rises and been under public attack again and again: yet this has not changed in over 2 decades and the board has let this keep happening. The 2 companies associated have NO persons of significant control. This is a similar pattern, so remember high paid individuals employed (often not living in Manchester) leave again and again to 'OUR' detriment. The politics of good intentions are not often led by those at the top being paid who then resign before trouble is made public. The smaller lower paid staff who work hard to include local freelancers, had the support of so many volunteers for decades. PRIDE (and Superbia who fund BIG artistic orgs also offer small pots of £1000 via application's that are highly complex and competitive for smaller local individuals/orgs that take a week to apply for). In 2025 Manchester Pride opened space to non-paying ticket holders to be inclusive - which had a massive impact that makes no financial sense, also due to the The Mayfield Depot hire. Most charities are dying amidst austerity, so how could this happen again when 'OUR' PRIDE March is taken over by BIG businesses who pay and then small freelance artists are not? Gone are the days of the Women's space for years and when we also fought to also include Non-binary Trans performances as well. This space WAS filled with local, national and international artists performing for travel and accommodation costs only for the LOVE of Manchester PRIDE. Now marginalised political important artists are pushed to the under-valued margins that are NOT mainstream: and cannot LIVE 'in-kind' anymore in the status quo. WE q***r minority artists 'trickle down' for free to CHANGE & affect the mainstream for generations to come. Many small independent theatre's and arts orgs closed during COVID and only the richer bigger orgs in the 'top few' benefit by assimilating peripheral individual artists work that feed 'the machine.' This continues in divide and rule global corporatism in cycles that keeps repeating itself in MONSTROUS circles. Artists cannot keep being paid travel costs for 'promo only volunteer benefits' that only pay the big organizations who mostly expect us to work for free or next to at best.

The Mill understands that the organisation is about to go into administration
