We thoroughly enjoyed installing Laura Pedley’s exhibition at the Lowry Hotel. Laura has worked hard to create an exciting exhibition and it was great to have her feed back on the curation of her show.

Laura Pedley is an abstract landscape painter based in Manchester. Her paintings explore the deep emotional connection she feels to the natural landscape, and her experience of finding sanctuary and an internal peace during stormy seasons of life. Laura is looking for the tensions between order and chaos, drawing inspiration from the transitions between different layers found within the landscape to create works that invite the viewer to share in her experiences.

Laura’s exhibition at the Lowry Hotel opens on Thursday 22nd September and will run until the 14th November 2022. The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 - 22:00.

Laura’s exhibition opens tomorrow with the preview evening running from 18:00 - 20:00. Come and take a peek over a glass of wine, you really won’t be disappointed!

We are back from our summer break and very much looking forward to working with Laura Pedley on her premier Solo Exhibition at the Lowry Hotel.

Inspired by big skies and open spaces, Laura creates beautiful abstract landscape artworks which seek to express the deep sense of peace and hope experienced when out in the natural world, bringing those feelings into your interior spaces so you can experience them too.

When Laura brought a selection of her paintings to the Comme Ca Art Gallery, we immediately felt peace and serenity in her works. They really do give a feeling of calm tranquility.

The exhibition preview will take place on Thursday 22.09.22 from 18:00 - 20:00 and will be open daily from 10:00 - 22:00 until Monday 14.11.22. Here’s a sneak peek at some of Laura’s paintings.

We had a lot of fun installing the Lowry Hotel Summer Exhibition. The exhibition features paintings by three very different artists, all of who are at the top of their game.

BIG H wowed the Lowry Hotel guests earlier this year with his solo exhibition. This time BIG H has concentrated on a new series of works looking at iconic graffiti emblems and mixing them with his own unique take on popular culture. In one painting, a Storm Trouper shelters under a pink umbrella whilst in another painting Mickey Mouse and Ronald McDonald hold hands with a Banksy-eque Monkey.

Rebecca Davy continues to inspire awe in her photorealistic paintings, this time concentrating on mouth watering slices of Cherry Pie and wobbly jellies decorated with fresh cream and a cherry on top. Her paintings really are almost good enough to eat.

Hannah Wooll’s luminescent paintings offer glimpses into ethereal worlds where her feminine figures tell their own stories in her stunningly beautiful colour palates. We could stare into Hannah’s paintings for hours.

All of the works in exhibition are for sale. The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 - 22:00 so if you find yourself in Manchester, Comme See Comme Ca Art at the Lowry Hotel.

Have we got a summer exhibition for you!

This year’s summer show at the Lowry Hotel sees the return of three prestigious artists who have worked with Comme Ca Art for quite some time. This exhibition premiers brand new paintings by all three artists, BIG H, Rebecca Davy and Hannah Wooll.

The artists all have their own unique style, with previous works becoming part of Comme Ca Art’s private client collections. We are super excited to premier brand new works by the artists including Big H’s colourful Pop Art / Graffiti paintings based on popular culture, Rebecca Davy’s luscious photorealist paintings of the yummiest desserts and Hannah Wooll’s dreamy figurative, fantasy worlds.

The exhibition open on Thursday 28th July with the preview evening on Thursday 4th August. If you would like to attend the preview, please RSVP [email protected]. The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 - 22:00 and ends on the 20th September 2022.

We’ve said it before and we will say it again, Rebecca Davy’s paintings look good enough to eat and at 50cm x 70cm, that’s one big slice of cake!

The painting isn’t quite finished but we couldn’t wait to share with you. The painting will be in exhibition at the Lowry Hotel as part of the Summer Group Exhibition opening on Thursday 28th July 2022.

We are excited to announce we will be opening the Comme Ca Art Gallery doors on Saturday 9th July for the Pollard Street Open Studios event in conjunction with our very own AWOL Studios at Hope Mill, Wellington Studios and Bridge 5 Mill from 13:00 - 19:00.

We will be revealing the exhibiting artists in a brand new group exhibition over the coming weeks. In the mean time you will find us up a ladder prepping the gallery walls for the fresh new show!

We’ve got some cracking new paintings at Material Source, courtesy of abstract painter, Rachael Addis and landscape painter, Sophie Nixon. There’s also works by Jacqui Symons, who is doing a project with MS, all to be revealed soon.

Material Source is open Monday to Friday 10:00am - 5:00pm where you can pursue the art in exhibition alongside the stunning MS Partners products. Manchester born, Craig Simpson has spent the last few years honing his painting skills in Brighton. Now back in Manchester, this will be Craig's first solo exhibition in his home town.

Craig Simpson is inspired by the 1940's and 1950's. Not only does this influence his painting but everyday life, including clothing and music taste. In this show Craig has focused his subject matter on Jazz Clubs from the same era, capturing musicians, dancers and audience members in sweaty, dimly lit clubs and ballrooms of Harlem and London. Craig handles the paint in a loose and thick impressionist style, capturing the energy and movement in each of the figures.

The gallery has never looked so empty! We’ve spent the last few days wrapping artworks to go into storage so we can begin the install for the Comme Ca Art X AWOL Studios Open Call Exhibition. (All stored works are for sale!)

We’ve got most of the Open Exhibition artworks and have resisted opening any of them up until the gallery is ready for the hang. It’s going to feel like Christmas this week!

The exhibition opens to the public on Saturday 30th April until the 31.05.22. We will share photos of the exhibition as it goes up this week!

Artist, Sophie Nixon has delivered some of her miniature Chair paintings to the gallery. These paintings are available to purchase and will be added to the Comme Ca Art Online Store this evening, link in bio!

In the middle of March 2021 artist, Sophie Nixon decided to embark on a mini project. Sophie started painting small 10cm x 10cm studies of chairs around her home. The idea was inspired by the beautiful mustard Ercol furniture she had been painting at the Comme Ca Art Gallery. Sophie put this idea out on social media and was soon inundated by photos of people’s gorgeous heirlooms and what started out as a mini project grew into 51 chair paintings in 51 weeks.

What a great day we have had at the Lowry Hotel installing the BIG H exhibition. We had hardly taken the wrapping off the paintings and people were enquiring about the works.

We are super excited to announce BIG H’s upcoming Solo Exhibition at the Lowry Hotel, dates of exhibition to follow. In the meantime, here’s a look at some of the paintings going into exhibition.

BIG H’s art is mainly a mixture of graffiti and pop art with popular culture often his subject matter and his art often satirising current issues in society such as celebrity culture, power and commercialism, leading to his art moniker, BIG H.

BIG H wants his art to visually stimulate the observer through strong images, colour, patterns and words. He enjoys the look and feel of tight and accurate geometric lines mixed with strong vibrant colours and bold patterns often surrounding a central figure from the world of popular culture.

In the middle of March 2021 artist, Sophie Nixon decided to embark on a mini project. Sophie started painting small 10cm x 10cm studies of chairs around her home. The idea was inspired by the beautiful mustard Ercol furniture she had been painting at the Comme Ca Art Gallery. Sophie put this idea out on social media and was soon inundated by photos of people’s gorgeous heirlooms and what started out as a mini project grew into 51 chair paintings in 51 days.

Three of these beautiful paintings have been snapped up by one of our private clients, which we have had framed by our friends at Frame @ Ancoats. These miniature paintings are as detailed as her larger works and look stunning on their own or as a set. For more details on Sophie’s work, please contact the gallery. Link in bio!

It was great to meet the talented young artist, Sadaf at the gallery this morning. Sadaf’s large scale portrait pencil drawings are truly stunning and we look forward to watching Sadaf blossom in her career as an artist.
