ā€˜Always get someone else to edit your work’
I said.
Not what I did
Spelling mistakes, grammar

ā€˜Why don’t you listen to yourself’ I said šŸ˜‚

*Bet Against Us

It’s almost time
For the ā€˜journey’, at the World Cup!
have a bet! But,
on another countries foot

It’ll be bad luck
To back the team, that’s yer own
So put money, on every other
Then they are bound to bring it home!

I’m not overly superstitious
but I’ll be wearing those same socks
I’ll watch the games whilst touching wood
And I’ll have my lucky rock

Maybe this once, we’ll be victorious
Maybe this once, we’ll dance in the street

You’ve got to have a gamble..:
Just not on yer own feet!

What of politics, international wars, world poverty and economic crisis?
Well we should balance those anxieties with debate over the shape of sausages 🤷

International thoughts on rectangular sausage slices over the traditional cylindrical version ?

A short poetic tale of tool tiredness….

*A Broken Tool

It was last Tuesday, when I noticed
Things weren’t quite the same

I really had to yank on it
Almost caused a strain

It didn’t react
The way it usually would

Nothing lasts, I’ve learnt that
So, I don’t know why I thought it should

I pulled it too much, made it worse
Now I think it’s way too late

Who am I gonna get to look at it?
Haven’t got those type of mates

Suppose I’ll just have to adapt
But it’s going to change things, for sure

I used to swing it round the garden!

I’ll miss that petrol chainsaw.

*Buffering

His slow breath,
of a deep heart
against harshness of the deep cold

The thickness of the hide,
hidden by thickness of the drift.
White layers
resting on him
surrounding every movement

while he conserves
wild power
A taut battle, of energies.

*Sunbathers Remorse

Was only out for an hour
But that sun had some power

And that’s all it takes
With a sunscreen mistake

Thought I was covered…
well I was, in a way

just in the wrong substance
to protect me from the rays

She’d done me back like a burger
Pranked my request

and been to the fridge
and got the mayo instead 🤷

She’s always lookin’ to get me
So perhaps I should have known better šŸ¤”

She’s burnt me more than once,
the vicious woman.
I always knew I’d regret her. 🫣
