A Northern Social Acoustic Gig and Open Mic Night The Musician's Retreat

A Northern Social is not your average Acoustic gig/Open mic night. We want to give you a voice!

We want to give musicians a place to actually sit with other musicians, exchange information, swap stories, inspire each other and jam together in a friendly, easy going atmosphere. With a mixture of total amateurs to long served veterans, A Northern Social offers you the chance to engage and find new avenues through this eclectic grouping. We have two different venues that we alternate on Sundays. The first is The Nelson in Failsworth, which is a warm, friendly pub with an intimate stage and great sound and the second is The Witchwood in Ashton which is a live music venue which features a professional stage, lighting and sound system set in a dark room ideal for the rock n rollers! We have links to radio so we will ensure some airplay, we provide online posters for you to advertise, we are invloved in live music around Manchester and can provide other gigs, and also Festivals. If you are a serious singer but dont have an instrument or band, please get in touch with us and we can arrange something for you, please note that this is NOT Karaoke night!
