Summer is one of the most rewarding times to bring conference delegates together at The Bridgewater Hall. The glass foyer spaces catch the light over the canal basin, the city beyond the windows is at its best, and there's something about arriving at a world-class concert hall for a day of serious work that sets the tone from the moment delegates walk in.

The Auditorium seats up to 1,800, with acoustic engineering that means every speaker carries perfectly to every seat in the house. The Barbirolli Room and foyer spaces support concurrent breakout sessions, networking, or exhibitions. And our in-house Conferences & Events team handles everything from layout and AV to catering and delegate coordination.

Gourmet nibbles and complimentary drinks await in The Lounge. At the interval, you're back inside for more. And your seat? Wondering why we're closed this month?

August is when we do the work that simply can't happen when the music is playing. From deep-cleaning the auditorium to servicing the air conditioning, checking the technical systems, and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps the building running - most of it is invisible to the naked eye, but all of it matters.

It's the quietest month in our calendar, but behind the scenes our technical, facilities and housekeeping teams are working harder than ever. This is the time of year when the Hall gets the care it deserves, so that when the doors open again, everything is exactly as it should be.

Huge thanks to our brilliant team for everything they do at this - and every - time of year. 👏

African Soul Rebels returns for a new era, bringing together three extraordinary artists who reshape tradition, cross borders and put rhythm at the heart of everything they do.

Leading the night are Les Amazones d’Afrique, the electrifying West African collective whose fierce, future-facing sound has taken them from Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage to President Obama’s playlist.

They’re joined by Malawi’s remarkable Gasper Nali, creating irresistibly danceable Afro beats on his homemade, three-metre-long, one-stringed babatoni bass, and Guinean-born balafon virtuoso N’famady Kouyaté.

This isn’t just a gig. It’s the revival of a movement – celebrating African creativity, innovation and resistance, past, present and future.

V***a Voce are a bold, genre-spanning string quartet who fuse historical and original music to create something entirely their own - fearless, energising performance that puts the stories of women and underrepresented voices at the centre.

Huge congratulations to our incredible Venue Presentation Team! ✨

Three members of the team – Sol, Chris and Lynne – have all been shortlisted for Cleaning Technician of the Year at the HHH Awards, and our Housekeeping Manager Jan has also been shortlisted for Housekeeping Manager of the Year. A fantastic and thoroughly deserved achievement. 👏

Anyone who has visited The Bridgewater Hall will know what an exceptional job the team does. Their care, pride and hard work help to keep the venue looking its very best, and this is reflected in the average 98% rating they have received through our post-concert surveys.

The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 10 September in Stratford-upon-Avon, and we’ll be cheering them all on.
