Heavily influenced by psychedelic culture and the collective psychological wounds of contemporary society, Pretty was founded by Torin Craig (guitar/lead vocals) in 2015, and consists of Craig, Eliot Rossi (guitar/vocals), Will Macquarrie (bass/vocals), Brian Heyes (keyboards) and Morgan Zych (drums). More than the sum of their influences, Pretty’s music is an emotional pilgrimage through the labyrinthine corridors of precarious 21st-century existence, where every step forward is made in defiance.
Since 2015, Pretty has recorded and released three singles, Mushroom Man (2017), Buzz/Red Champagne (2017) and Moody Hair (2019); two EPs, Plastic Music for Plastic People (2018) and Citrus Magic (2023); and one full-length album, Sertraline Dream (2020); of these, Mushroom Man is currently approaching two million Spotify streams. Pretty has been showcased at Exclaim! Magazine’s “Class of 2022” concert series, Sarnia, Ontario’s Empty Fest, the River and Sky Music Festival Main Stage, and has been a four-time Canadian Music Week featured act. They have also shared stages with new, independent touring acts such as Acid Dad and Small Crush, as well as more established outfits such as The Sadies, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Budos Band.
