We have to make art.

Women are interrupted in the art making process continually. Society makes calls on us that can get in the way, it makes assumptions about us that deter us from our uniqueness

This exhibition features the work of 8 women artists who have been collaborating for the last 4 years through Global Arts Manchester and are currently working in partnership with the School of Creativity for the next 12 months.

As women our work reflects our place(s) in the world. Our various loves.

Changing the world
Our impatience with a patriarchy that holds us, humanity, in a place of subjugation.

Our creativity and energy , our synergy and unity,

As activitsts we fight for our right to be defined as human, we create our own truths and our own defintions.

This exhibitions also celebrates our return to being in space together

The work is a mixture of both previous practice and new work being created through Global Arts experimental commissioning process that demands that we make art.

In this way this exhibition is a living process. It will change and flow through the next 3 months.

We invite you to come in over and again to witness the work, perhaps to help shape the work and to engage us ( an d each other) in discsussion about the work.

We hope this will also stand a s springboard into ongoing collaborations.

It Done, are an art collective made up of 3rd year interactive arts students. On the 11th of December we are hosting a charity event fundraising for Manchester central food bank. The evening will be filled with artistic entertainment, inspiring talks and local DJ’s. All the profits will be going to the food bank so we need as much help as possible to spread the word!
