Magpie Man Theatre Contact information, map and directions, contact form, opening hours, services, ratings, photos, videos and announcements from Magpie Man Theatre, Performance Art Theatre, Manchester.

Magpie Man Theatre was founded in March 2015, and has since had success with the award-winning 'MOUTH' (2015), critically-acclaimed 'AUTOPSY' (2016), and award-nominated 'LIVE: In Technicolor' (2017) and accompanying book 'SPECTRUM'. Magpie Man Theatre is a fledgling performance group, founded in March 2015 by Christopher Bowles, explicitly for the purposes of entering the Manchester fringe scene.

In July of the same year, MMT won the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival award for 'Best Spoken Word' with their debut production, 'MOUTH'; an experimental look at radio drama and confessional monologue. Christopher continued to write under the MMT umbrella, and developed a series of spoken word pieces alongside HONOUR CHOIR, which were performed as part of a series of remembrance concerts throughout 2015 and early 2016. It is part of an on-going project; culminating in a European tour in 2018.

2016 saw sophomore production 'AUTOPSY'; an exploration into the frailty of the human body through dance and movement; receive critical acclaim; and 2017's project saw the launch of Christopher's debut flash-fiction collection 'SPECTRUM', alongside the live adaptation and solo show 'LIVE: In Technicolor'.

2018 will see the first year MMT launches multiple projects - the experimental audio collection 'O.D.E.S.', a revised and newly-recorded version of 'MOUTH' utilising up to 100 different local poets and actors, and 'Mancunian Greek' - a contemporary take on Greek tragedies set in modern-day Salford and Manchester.

We've spent the last fortnight or so plotting; filming and singing our way through an absolutely bonkers ordeal!

It's that time again where we got involved with the latest FLIM NITE event - this time a collaboration event with the fantastic Sean Morley!

FLIM NITE FORESIGHT has used clairvoyant powers to predict the plot for a future unreleased film - Super Mario Bros. (2022) and split the plot outline among 18 participants.

The Twitch livestream happens tomorrow evening; but feel free to cast your peepers on the (frankly ridiculous) trailer below and stare into the madness.

Let's a-gooooooo!

“FLIM NITE FORESIGHT TRAILER and I predicted the script of Mario Bros Movie (2022) and gave it to 18 performers to create. This Saturday we combine these efforts into a DIY precognitive cinematic masterpiece. Saturday 7.30pm (uk time) https://t.co/i7s3Mbksmq https://t.co/7GaAdKzw7f....
