NEW SHOW

Craven Faults returns to Manchester for an evening of analogue synthesis at hallestpeters on the 6th February.

Tickets onsale 10am Friday.

The devil’s in the details. It always was and it always will be. It’s there for those who seek it out.

The journey on Sidings isn’t made with people in mind. It begins in an isolated community which has built up around one of the great engineering projects of its age. The work is slow and perilous - thousands of men at the mercy of the elements. The ground is frozen or flooded for months on end, while red kites circle overhead. 14 tunnels and 22 viaducts to open up the north. The on-beat and the off-beat interchange. Recorded in 1969, Olympic Studios - a precursor to the ships we built.

We walk north east in search of a distance marker. When it first comes into view, it looks similar to where we commenced our journey on Bounds. The open moorland gives it away. This particular trip will take considerably longer, by foot and packhorse, before the land and power is redistributed by order of parliament. Just shy of fifteen minutes between 1952 and 1964 – from J&M Studio, New Orleans to the San Francisco Tape Music Centre. Rapid progress and consistently fertile ground.

As the sun rises, we make our way by road to a junction. There is a livestock market and an inn for travellers. It’s important to make the journey before the seasons change and this area becomes inaccessible. An idea almost lost in the mists of time - a West German prototype unearthed twelve years later. A little way due south, we arrive at another crossroads. We find a maestro labouring over his masterwork – Gold Star Studios, United Western Recorders, Columbia Studios and Capitol Studios. October 3rd, 1966 to November 20th, 1968. Inspired by the story of another community building the railways. The circle is complete and encompasses continents.

We continue south, hitching a ride on a finely turned out cart. We help to unload the churns onto the platform and wait for the train to arrive. Our cargo will head east before switching tracks to be delivered into urban areas. Hundreds of thousands of gallons per year. The Black Ark, 1977.

NEW SHOW

One of the best live noise rock shows we have seen over the last few years was Coilguns the last time they played for us supporting Pupil Slicer and they return to Manchester on the 7th March SOUP in support of their new album We Love We Destroy released on the 6th November.

Tickets available Monday at 12pm.

Initially coming from the DIY hardcore scene, Coilguns have crafted since then their very own blend of punk and ecstatic noise-rock. They are known for their raw,
uncompromising and euphoric live performances, proudly serving the dancing freaks and the crowd-surfing weirdos.

The band history is deeply bound to the development of guitarist Jona Nido’s own label – Humus Records – that now gathers up to 170 releases from Swiss artists
of all sonic horizons. Though most of their first albums were 100% self-produced,engineered and mixed by the band members, Coilguns drove in the summer of
2022 to end-of-the-world’s Oceansound Recordings in Norway with producer Scott Evans to track their fourth studio album, later mixed by Grammy-
nominated producer Tom Dalgety.

NEW SHOW

One of our favourite releases of the last few months is the debut .lambsear EP 'Put Rings On All My Fingers To Weigh Down My Hands' and cant wait to see them live The Abbey on the 6th February.

Tickets are on sale now.

Curbside Lambsear is Annabelle Mödlinger and Magdalena McLean. The collaboration explores rough textures and soft intentions, weaving together elements of pop, folk, and improvisation with influences of drone, dub, and post-punk.

The project began as a way for Magdalena and Annabelle to experiment with writing music together, using early sessions to learn new instruments, the process of recording and writing on DAWs. Their musical output is the result of time spent together in the studio fusing disparate influences into collage; phone notes, little poems written on public transport, field recordings, sample loops, rehearsal voice
memos and string melodies merge, realign, and sometimes coalesce into songs.

A return and new begining for B**g II when they play LOW FOUR with Sally Mason this Sunday (11th October)

Poster by Brett Savage.

Reuniting drummer Mike Smith with vocalist/bassist Dawn Terry, the duo now steps boldly into uncharted sonic territory with the addition of Daniel Foggin of Newcastle’s Smote. B**g II are both a continuation and a transformation. The ritualistic heaviness and repetition continue as ever but the familiar drone monolith exudes strange new frequencies…

NEW SHOW

With a new album released on One Little Independent Records next year 𝒰𝒮𝒜 𝒩𝒜𝐼𝐿𝒮 🎀 return to Manchester on the 19th February.

Tickets are on sale Friday 10am

London noise-rock quartet USA Nails return with new album ‘Routine Flesh’, out February 12th 2027 via One Little Independent Records and SKiN GRAFT Records in North and South America.

Across twelve tracks, ‘Routine Flesh’ is preoccupied with mortality and the things that shape us: the bodies we inherit and watch deteriorate, the beliefs we absorb, the environments we grow up in, and the experiences that leave marks long after they have happened. Ageing, religion, healthcare, trauma, isolation, love and online radicalisation all feed into a record that asks how much control we really have over the people we become.

Musically, ‘Routine Flesh’ pushes at the edges of a sound USA Nails have spent more than a decade pulling apart and putting back together. Distorted bass, dissonant guitars, barked and deadpan vocals and pounding rhythms remain at its core, but across the album the band stretch that vocabulary in increasingly unexpected directions. There are moments of motorik repetition, blown-out fuzz, and wiry post-punk, alongside some of their most direct and unexpectedly tender material.
