Well it’s been a busy weekend with White Circle Manchester Art Fair I haven’t stopped, I only realised this morning I never got any pictures of the stand, just ones from the setup! I wanted to say thank you to everyone who came by and said hello, the hundreds of you who bought a butterfly from the kaleidoscope of Hope installation and the ones who were curious to find out more about my practice. For those of you who didn’t know what Kaleidoscope of Hope was about here’s a brief intro to it. I wanted to create a piece that summed up the last 2 years, but looking at the positive side to it. We had this injection of colour with rainbow paintings as a sign of hope and positivity, so I decided to make a tool that I could paint with which symbolised what this injection of colour was about. I enlarged the Corona molecule so it could house spray cans. Then when I move it around the pressure on the can nozzle would release paint pigments leaving this trail of chromatic hope. I then wanted to create a piece where people could take a part of a bigger painting, so I created 500 unique butterflies as a symbol of hope and life. These were then sold and go off to another life, leaving me with the painting with all the ghostly silhouettes of the butterflies, meaning this piece lives in several hundred different worlds with people. The response was amazing, so thank you again 🙏🏼🦋
So it’s the last day of the White Circle Manchester Art Fair and we’re excited to see everyone! Remember allday today we are giving a free postcard collection worth £72 away with every purchase on the stand! Looking forward to seeing you all later.
Such a joy to meet so many really lovely people on my stand 307 at White Circle Manchester Art Fair (Easel). This is my hubby Phil who’s my absolute rock.
Thank you to all who came to say hi. See you next year! X
