So fluid

Our resident 'Slayzian Popstar in Platforms' Seann Miley Moore spills the T on modern gay dating on Grindr. Buckle in ...

"NO FATS NO FEMS NO ASIANS

…is constant line seen in dating app blurbs. When I was a young gay, fat, Asian boy, to see this blatant racism… I once didn't love who i am. To not be a white, cis, muscular male within the mainstream gay world you are not accepted (I mean look at the representation that is out there in the Hollywood "Call Me By Your Name” light).

This topic is still prevalent and as an artist I will and am changing that...I feel oh so proud, liberated, sexy, fearless and everyday I live pride. I sing my songs, wear the highest heels, have the love from my beautiful family, friends and fans.

It’s all about living your best life in the most fearless and fabulous way you feel the best about yourself. Everyone wants someone to love them. First you gotta love yourself before you can love somebody else.

GUY: A New Musical… will definitely give you an insight into LGBTQI app dating. Get ready..I don't think I am to spill the T on it all…OH LORD...

And..my profile reads

Height: 175cm
Weight: 73kg
Ethnicity: Mixed
Body Type: Toned
Gender: Mufasa

Samba, Classical Duo and Alternative guitarist-singer-songwriter. Manchester is the place to be on 13th Feb!

Toss aside your pancakes and shrove on your outdoor shoes to hear some fantastic, diverse music! Feb | GenreFluid Chamber Music // Classical Ev x Meraki x Samba

1. Meraki Duo

Formed in 2013, the Meraki Duo enjoys exploring the diversity of repertoire available to the flute-guitar pairing while contributing arrangements of their own. Meera Maharaj and James Girling both studied at the RNCM, sharing a passion for chamber music spanning jazz, classical and folk territories. They love performing in a wide variety of contexts and venues; most recently, these have included St James’s Church in Piccadilly, the Bridgewater Hall as part of Craig Ogden’s Guitar Weekend, and even a barn in Cumbria.

2. Manchester School of Samba

From their humble beginnings in Sankey's Soap through being the centre of 1,800 performers in the year 2000 in Castlefield Manchester School of Samba have been entertaining crowds at stadiums and on parades both within Manchester and beyond since March 1995. The costumes were made for both the Manchester Day Parades where they performed with both a brass section and giant puppets. They

They have been to Germany, The Republic of Ireland, The Netherlands and France.

Come celebrate the carnival music of Brazil and jazz-influenced compositions by Tony Watt

3. Helgi Clayton McClure/Helgi Clayton McClure

Writing songs for ten years, Helgi has always tried to flout traditional lyrical themes but sticking religiously to the constraint of guitar-based instrumentation.

Described variously as “The New Jake Thackray” and “like a brownstone step – warm but with a hard edge”, his aim is always to entertain first and self-indulge later.

Helgi has made close to 500 public appearances both in his own right and as a bass player and guitarist with various bands; a hard drive failure and subsequent loss of written records has meant this can only be a rough estimate.

Helgi is setting up a string of shows for 2018 in the hope of a DIY album release at some point down the line; he’d love it if you visited his new online hideaway at www.helgi.co.uk.

4. Isabel Williamson - Loop Cello

Our stalwart contributor, Isabel Williamson, returns with her fabulous set of original loop compositions and improvisations! You'll be humming them on the way out

John Haycock - Kora/electronics/clarinet

John Haycock is a multi instrumental live looping artist passionate about affecting acoustic sounds with electronics exploring new sonority.

His debut album 'An ancient future' is mid production and due for release 2018

John takes his home made kora (21 string African Harp) And runs it through a series of electronic devices creating lush soundscapes and solid beats and overlays it with woodwind instruments, bridging the gap between ancient West African Folk melodies and modern electronica, visiting influences from hip-hop to house to dub along the way.

No Dice Collective - Commissioned New Music

This time featuring a piece composed by Sophie Sully, with spoken-word poetry performed and written by Georgia Ellen, alongside Malcolm Goodare.

'Salt Fiend' is a a collaboration between the writing duo of Georgia and Sophie, about two Manchester-dwelling slug lovers (that's lovers who are slugs...) whose life takes a turn for the salty. [Spoilers] May contain slug deities, product placement, and revenge.

Packed with humour, emotion and irreverence, it's going to be a hoot.
