Cultureword presents National Black Writers Conference 2021, taking place Saturday 20th November – Sunday 21st November

A conference for writers, showcasing Global Majority writers from all over the UK and around the world. Cultureword’s National Black Writers Conference is all-virtual, with female and non-binary artists delivering talks and workshops that reflect on the achievements, real-world

challenges, and dreams and aspirations of Global Majority writers in 2021. Headline event: In Conversation with Jennifer Makumbi (winner of the 2021 Jhalak Prize for her novel The First Woman)

Over the 2 days of the conference there will be Panels exploring the connections between q***r culture back in the day and right now; a practical workshop guiding writers on creating an effective social media profile to promote yourself and your work; a panel on future literature Going Digital; a new spoken-word/choreography commission; a View From Berlin; and looking at making sure there are No More “Ivory” Towers at universities.
